LONDON， Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Northern Ireland First Minister Arlene Foster told the annual conference of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) Saturday that Brexit represents the biggest opportunity in decades.


Making her first keynote speech as leader of the DUP， Foster told delegates: "I respect those who believed that the United Kingdom's best interests were served by remaining within the European Union， but I have no time for those who want to refight the referendum. That debate is over."


"Rather than talking up the challenges， we should be looking towards the opportunities. Brexit represents the biggest economic opportunity for this country in decades，" Foster told the conference in Belfast.


She said the DUP had stood shoulder to shoulder with those who wanted the British people to take back control of their futures.


"I know that there were many good people on both sides of this debate. But the only way that we can ensure that Northern Ireland's interests are best served is if we are united and determined."


"What will guide me through these negotiations， and yes， they will be tough， are five simple principles."


"Firstly， Brexit means Brexit. The whole of the United Kingdom leaves the EU. Secondly， the economic and social benefits for Northern Ireland within the United Kingdom are far more important than our relationship with the EU."


"Thirdly， any deal must recognize the reality of our geography and of our history. Fourthly， we will work with whoever we need to， to get the best deal for Northern Ireland at home and abroad. And fifthly， whatever the outcome of the Brexit negotiations， it will not divert me from delivering on my plan to build a better Northern Ireland."


"We must not allow the Brexit negotiations to divert and distract from the normal business of government， nor should it be used as a basis to reopen settled political agreements，" said the official.


"Those will by my guiding principles in the two years to come and I believe they will help lead us to a better future，" she added.

"I hate the fact that because I’m a celebrity, everybody told me not to say that I loved the debates," West said, in videos of remarks posted by concertgoers on Twitter and YouTube.


"I loved his (Trump's) approach," added West, who last year declared he was considering running for U.S. president himself in 2020.


Many in the crowd jeered, and some in the audience wrote that people were throwing objects at the "Gold Digger" singer.


West shouted "build that wall" during the concert in an apparent reference to Trump's pledge to build a wall on the U.S.- Mexico border and step up immigration enforcement against the country’s 11 million undocumented immigrants.


Many U.S. celebrities are dismayed and shocked at Trump's election. But former "Daily Show" television host Jon Stewart this week called out left-wingers as hypocrites for portraying Trump voters as racists even as they purport to reject stereotypes.


"I thought Donald Trump disqualified himself at numerous points," the liberal-leaning Stewart said in a CBS television interview on Thursday. "But there is now this idea that anyone who voted for him has to be defined by the worst of his rhetoric."


West, who is married to TV reality star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian, suggested he still had presidential ambitions. "I don’t say 2020 out of disrespect to our president at all ... I’m just saying I’ve got some ideas about the way we should connect our ideas,” West told concertgoers.

WELLINGTON, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Athletes and the body-conscious should beware that at least six sports supplements on sale in Australia and New Zealand contain anabolic steroids not declared on their labels, researchers said on Wednesday.


Designer anabolic steroids, also known as androgens, pose a potential health risk and, for athletes, may lead to a positive doping test and a ban from competing in a sport, according to a study published in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, which was carried out by researchers from the University of Otago and the University of Technology Sydney.


Research leader Prof. Alison Heather of the Department of Physiology in Otago's School of Biomedical Sciences said that athletes use supplements hoping they will make them more competitive and healthy.


"Sports supplements, as well as other forms of nutritional supplements, are very popular with athletes, at the professional, amateur and recreational levels. In some sports, 100 percent of the athletes use such supplements, such as in body-building," Heather said, adding that some members of the general population also take them in the hope they might improve body image or vitality.


The sports supplement market is not well-regulated and manufacturers can market their products with unsubstantiated claims, she said.


European studies have shown up to 16 percent of sports supplements contain a banned substance.
