HO CHI MINH CITY， Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday confirmed four additional Zika patients， bringing the total number of cases in the city to 69， the municipal Preventive Medicine Center said.


To date， 17 out of 24 rural and urban districts of Ho Chi Minh City have reported Zika cases.


Vietnam has so far detected 78 Zika cases， including 69 from Ho Chi Minh City， two each in Dak Lak， Binh Duong and Ba Ria Vung Tau provinces， and one in Khanh Hoa， Phu Yen and Long An provinces respectively.


Former Arsenal and French striker Thierry Henry announced Tuesday he was -retiring from soccer after a -glittering career and will -become a TV analyst for Sky Sports in England.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said recently that -Henry will "certainly" return to the club in some capacity in the future. Henry, who has a daughter based in England, said in recent weeks that he wants to help Arsenal win the Champions League.


Henry first made his mark at French club Monaco before moving to Italian giants -Juventus.


But the bulk of his career was spent at Arsenal under Wenger, who brought him to north London in 1999.


He was a crucial part of the 2003-2004 "Invincibles" team alongside fellow Frenchman Patrick Vieira, which went -unbeaten as they stormed to the Premier League title.


In England, Henry won the Premier League twice and the FA Cup three times.


Henry left England for Barcelona in 2007, spending three years with the Spanish giants with whom he won the Champions League trophy in 2009.


He finished his career in the US, playing for New York Red Bulls, but returned to Arsenal for four matches on loan from the Red Bulls in 2012, coming on as a substitute to score the winner against Leeds in the third round of the FA Cup.


Capped 123 times for France, he scored a national record 51 goals during his international career which began with a 2-1 win over South Africa in October 1997.


His last international game was during the 2010 World Cup when he came on as a second-half substitute in a 2-1 loss to hosts South Africa as France were dumped out of a tournament which had been a fiasco for the 1998 World Cup winners.


MOSCOW, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Moscow severely criticized on Friday the adoption of a U.S. Congress bill aimed at providing lethal and non-lethal aid to Ukraine and imposing additional sanctions against Russia.


The Ukraine Freedom Support Act approved Thursday by both houses of the U.S. Congress causes nothing but deep regret due to its "openly confrontational nature", Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement.


"The U.S. lawmakers, following the steps of the Barack Obama administration, are doing their utmost to destroy the carcass of cooperation (between the two countries)," Lukashevich said.


"It's about time the U.S. congressmen abandon illusions about the effectiveness of their sanctions campaign against Russia. We will not give in to blackmail, we will not forsake our national interests, and we will not allow any interference in our internal affairs," RIA Novosti news agency quoted Lukashevich as saying.


According to the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, a legislation was passed unanimously on Thursday by the Senate, granting lethal military and non-military assistance and expanding sanctions against Russia.


The Ukraine Freedom Support Act would also provide Ukraine with energy, defense sector, and civil society assistance, and expand broadcasting programs to counter Russian propaganda in countries of the former Soviet Union, according to an online announcement posted by the committee.


Also on Friday, Russian Foreign Ministry refuted Washington's groundless and vaguely formulated accusations of Russia violating the Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty.


U.S. Under Secretary of State for arms control and international security Rose Gottemoeller said Thursday the U.S. was considering taking economic measures against Moscow in response to Russia's alleged violation of the treaty.


Relationship between Russia and the U.S. has worsened to an ice point due to the over-nine-month armed conflict in Ukraine between Kiev government and the independence-seeking insurgents in the eastern regions of Donetsk and Lugansk.


Kiev and the West have been blaming Russia for escalating the violence by providing assistance to the insurgents, while Moscow kept denying the allegation, and accusing Ukraine of failing to stop the bloodshed in its country.

Russia pushes for early meeting of contact group: FM

UN political chief to visit Ukraine: spokesman
