LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- Russian pairs skater Oksana Nagalati has been banned for one year after she tested positive for a banned diuretic and masking agent at a Junior Grand Prix. NFL Jerseys Discount . The International Skating Union says the 17-year-old Nagalati was negligent in relying on a doctor lacking experience of anti-doping rules who prescribed furosemide to treat swelling on her face and body. The ruling states Nagalati "had forgotten that furosemide is on the (World Anti-Doping Agency) prohibited list." Still, the ISU disciplinary panel said her explanation "seems to be credible" and declined to impose a two-year ban. Nagalatis suspension expires on Sept. 13. WADA can challenge the judgment at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Nagalati and her partner Maxim Bobrov were disqualified from their third-place finish at the competition in Slovakia. One of the best aspects of my job, maybe the best, is the experiences; the interactions with people you never forget. Whether it is meeting Tom Hanks briefly (class act) or the genuine enthusiasm and interaction of Riders and Ticats fans, I am confident I can speak for all that covered the game in saying you made us feel much more important and appreciated than we deserve. I sincerely hope the moment the new stadium is ready to roll the “Big Game" goes back to Regina with no hesitation. Overall this off-season has been a good and productive one. With new stadiums in Ottawa and Hamilton, future stadiums in Regina and Toronto, the most important aspects of the game – in-stadium fan experience and attendance – are progressing, not regressing. Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton is taking shape. The season ticket base is just about maxed out and the luxury boxes are all sold. I have yet to visit the stadium in Ottawa but I have a high level of confidence in the people running the Redblacks and what they are doing to make this organization viable. Its very important to have a CFL team in Ottawa for one big reason: it is our nations capital and will continue to enhance pride and patriotism in ourselves and our country. With Toronto, at the risk of sounding like a cheerleader, BMO Field would be perfect. I have walked around the stadium three or four times and the sight lines, angles, and proximity to the field are exceptional. Its basically on the same location as the old Exhibition Stadium and that location is excellent; not as congested as the Rogers Centre location and probably not as expensive. I dont dislike the Rogers Centre, at one time it was one of the most unique structures in North America, but BMO fits what is needed: more intimacy and less immensity. Trust me when I say this, its perfect! In on-field related issues, I like the challenge system as it relates to pass interference; the NFL will watch closely how it is executed and learn. But I also have concerns with flow of the game. Too many stops and starts in football make the game boring; I hate to say that but it is the truth. This is a pretty bold, precedent-setting move by the league. May I suggest one more? Eliminate the huddle from football with the exception of the beginning of a drive. Football players are pretty bright, they can run ann entire offence without talking about it in detail after each play. Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys For Sale. Between TV timeouts, injuries, and challenges, the game is too long, especially NCAA football, which now runs anywhere from 3.5 hours to four. That is too much. How do you create a rule to keep the game flowing? Easy. Once a play is over, the offence must go back to the original position they began the play from, then the quarterback directs the play and players. Time constraints stay the same and every player that needs an ear piece can use one to offset the noise. The quarterback becomes a true quarterback, not an order taker. Realistic? I believe so. The entertainment value of the game would explode as there would be constant focus from the fans due to constant motion and action. It may be a difficult sell but as a viewer, anytime a team goes no huddle I regain and intensify my interest. Again the league could set a new standard of entertainment for the benefit of the paying public. They are, after all the most important revenue generators. Speaking of revenue, the Players Association wants a new, bigger and better deal. As a former player, I want the present players to earn more. CFL players are the most underpaid athletes in a combat sport I know. The league is not at a point where an increase can be so significant that it satisfies the desires of all. It is still a lean business that has developed stability, but not prosperity. There will be an increase for players, the amount is unknown. May I suggest this though, as a life lesson learned? It is not so much how much you make as it is how much you have and what you do with it. With an increase in revenue, the best thing the league and Players Association can do is get it out of the hands of the players to control spontaneous purchases. We have all heard the mind-numbing stories of athletes that make a lot yet have very little. And the truth is they have no one to blame but themselves. Hard pill to swallow. There will be more money, but making the money truly work so you can satisfy both your desires for security and adventure in life is critical. There is nothing more important in the CFL than the quality of the play and the player. And there should be nothing more important to that player than when his playing days are over he has physical, financial evidence he played. I dont know about you, but this was the most brutal winter I have encountered in a long time. I heard it was the coldest in Manitoba in 100 years. I am looking forward to watching a game without seeing my breath. Fall will come soon enough, but spring football sounds good to me! ' ' '

CANBERRA, Australia - Challenged before the Asian Cup to prove it can be more than a footnote in Australias crowded sporting calendar, the national capital Canberra has responded with good attendances and an impressive audition for more prominent roles in the future. Air Max 270 Sale Australia .In the leafy streets of the capital, quiet in January with the politicians on holiday, Asian footballs biggest event has taken hold. It is a payoff for organizers who took a gamble by giving Canberra — a city of around 400,000 people — seven out of the 32 games, equal to Sydney and Melbourne, cities with populations ten times as large. The national capital has a Super rugby team in the ACT Brumbies, while the Canberra Raiders are a long-term fixture in the National Rugby League, but otherwise it has little presence when it comes to national and international sporting events. In the week before kick-off, Asian Cup CEO Michael Brown drew the ire of Canberra residents by telling the city to put up or shut up and that the only way to get more sporting events was to show up to the Asian Cup.I may have upset a few people but Canberra has been amazing, Brown told Associated Press. They have talked for years about having an A-League team or a Big Bash (Twenty20 cricket) team but the only way to do that is to turn up in big numbers for the events that do come.China versus North Korea last Sunday was a virtual sell-out and there is not expected to be a spare seat for Fridays quarterfinal between Iran and Iraq. Canberra has so far averaged over 10,000 for the six games it has hosted, without yet seeing the three biggest drawing teams of the tournament: Australia, Japan and Iran.Overall, the target of 500,000 tickets sold is almost certain to be met as with eight games to go, the figure is almost at the 400,000 mark. Australia has been amazing, added Brown. We sold out Japan and Jordan, and think we will have up to eight sell-outs across five cities. The best teams have reached the quarterfinals, and with a surprise or two such as China there as well, it is a promoters dream.Nicholas Amies, 22, is a volunteer at Canberra Stadium and has enjoyed the experience of being close to the best teams in Asia and sampling the atmosphere. Its been really good so far. Attendances have been better than expected. There have been a lot of neutrals attending games, the tickets are affordable which is good for families.Attendances at stadiums may have been helped by the difficulty accessing games on television, as the tournament is on a newly launched cable channel which most homes, and even many bars, do not have.Viewing figures on the channel have been mixed. While almost 400,000 watched Australia lose to South Korea, just 26,000 saw Uzbekistan defeat Saudi Arabia 3-1 in a vital Group B decider. The local media has given a reasonable amount of prominence to the Asian Cup, even as the tournament competes against the familiar mainstays of Australian sporting summers: cricket and the Australian Open tennis. When it comes to quality on the field, the fare has been fine rather than fabulous but quarterfinals such as Australia against China and Iraq versus Iran are sure to provide drama and excitement. And then it will be time to discuss the legacy. For Canberra, it is simple: a team of its own in the countrys professional competition, the A-League, to get behind and support. It already is a football city and thats why we have seven games, said Jeremy Lasek, the CEO of the National Australia Day Council as he watched Australia defeat Oman 4-0 in a Canberra bar. We love sport. Its great to see the different cultures here and it really shows what the world game is all about. Sakho was signed by Allardyce from Metz in the summer of 2014 and was the top scorer for the Londoners the following season with 12 goals in 26 games. He was not as prolific last term, finishing with seven Premier League goals after missing time between November and March due to a thigh injury. Butch Harmon describes how the players will feel before teeing off at Royal Troon and gives his predictions for The Open, live on Sky Sports. Cheap MLB Jerseys Authentic . Everyones a little different in their preparations before the first tee. Most will say theyre nervous, but I feel its more the case of anxiety and being amped up ready to start.Theyve waited all week for this day to come, some will warm up for just 30 minutes and others will take up to an hour and 20. Theres then a putting green on the way to the start and youre just a little anxious. Henrik Stenson is one of my picks for the week. If he can keep his head in the game concentration wise over 72 holes, he has an excellent chance. Butch Harmon The players have to slow themselves down, as they want to run up there and hit that first shot. If his shooting improvement is remotely legitimate, then Green can be valuable as a multi-category threat. Courtney Lee, SG, Memphis – He missed a couple games with a concussion, but the 29-year-old shooting guard has played big minutes (36+ minutes in two of the three games that he’s played) and can shoot threes. Lee doesn’t offer much more, maybe a steal per game, but nothing wrong with a three-point threat getting starter’s minutes. Ed Davis, PF, L.A. Lakers – Jordan Hill and Carlos Boozer are the starters in the Lakers’ frontcourt, but with rookie Julius Randle suffering a broken leg on opening night, Davis lost some competition for playing time. He doesn’t shoot a lot, but he’s efficient (66.7% from the field) and ggetting 10. Cheap Bo Jackson Jersey. .4 points, 7.2 rebunds, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 steals per game is not bad at all. Donald Sloan, PG, Indiana – It’s quite something to see who is contributing for the depleted Pacers and journeyman Sloan is second on the team in scoring, with 15.6 points per game, but he’s also good for 5.2 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. At least while George Hill remains out of the lineup, Sloan ought to provide solid point guard production. Garrett Temple, SG, Washington – While Bradley Beal is out, Temple is the starter alongside John Wall in the Wizards’ backcourt. He’s mostly been a spare part in his NBA career, and averaged 1.8 points per game in 75 games last season, but he’s making the most of his run now, with 13.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.8 threes per game. Mirza Teletovic, PF, Brooklyn – The third-year forward has steadily increased his role and while he’s an okay rebounder (5.5 per game), he’s really a sharpshooter, hitting 2.8 threes per game on 45.8% from beyond the arc. Ray Sadler singled home leadoff hitter Tyler Kuhn with the only run of the game and then Kyle Anderson, David Hatt, Christian Garcia, Gabe Aguilar, Taylor Sewitt and Alex De La Cruz pitched shutout baseball, as the Goldeyes beat the Sioux Falls Canaries 1-0 in an American Association pre-season game at Shaw Park on Tuesday night. Goldeyes manager Rick Forney had high praise for all of his pitchers, but was especially impressed with Anderson. "Kyle did a good job and was very efficient for his first time out," said Forney. "He threw strike one and he knows what he needs to do to be successful – stay ahead in counts. He did a good job of that tonight. "He has movement on his pitches and he knows it and uses it to his advantage. I cant wait to see him get out there and pitch again." Starter John Brebbia allowed the only run of the game and took the loss for Sioux Falls. Winnipegs Alex De La Cruz pitched a three-up-three-down ninth and got the save. "De La Cruz has a good young arm and I was certainly encouraged by his outing tonight," said Forney. "I was happy with all our guys. They did a good job." While Sadler knocked in the games only run, it was player of the game Josh Mazzola who had the best night at the plate. Mazzola went two-for-two with a walk. The same two teams will meet again Wednesday night, 7 p.m. at Shaw Park. It will be the final pre-season game in Winnipeg this spring. The Goldeyes will head out to Lincoln on Thursday. ' ' '

Each week, The Reporters put their thumbs out to the good and the bad in the world of sports. Wholesale New Balance For Sale . This week they discuss J.R. Smiths antics, Dennis Rodmans trip to North Korea, Toronto FCs spending and the inspiring story of a California high-school basketball player. Bruce Arthur, National Post: My thumb is down to J.R. Smith, the illegitimate clown prince of basketball. The New York Knicks are their own unique brand of farce, but Smith takes it to a different, dumber level. This week he was fined $50,000 for trying to untie an opponents shoelace again, after being warned by the NBA, hey, dont try to untie an opponents shoelace again. This had literally never happened before. He had already been suspended in his career for fights, for drugs, and even for reckless driving causing a death, and he has said over and over, "Ive learned." But he never learns. Hes a player with talent, no desire to shape it, no thoughts of consequences, and the brain of a slow-ish ostrich. Someone should tie his shoelaces together, and be done with it. Steve Simmons, Toronto Sun: My thumb is down to Dennis Rodman and his bizarre egotistical nonsensical attempt at diplomacy with his latest visit to North Korea. This isnt the Richard Nixon days, when ping-pong began to unfreeze the relationship between the United States and China. This is today, and this is the clown Rodman, trying to look serious in a political arena. The situation becomes all the more troubling when you consider Rodmans patty-cake friendship with dictator and admirer Kim Jong-un. While in North Korea, Rodman suggested that American tour guide, Kenneth Bae, jailed 15 years for state subversion, was at fault for being held captive and after saying that, blamed his verbal outburst on drinking too much. Dennis Rodman is, was, and remains something of a sporting embarrassment. The fact he is playing a more difficult game here only makes it worse. Michael Farber, Sports Illustrated: My thumb is up to Toronto FC for its showy efforts at ending its culture of failure. This week the club repatriated Canadian midfielder Dwayne De Rosario. It then made a global splash by acquiring striker Jermain Defoe from Tottenham and signing another midfielder, American international Michael Bradley, who had been languishing at A.S. Roma. MLSEs $100 million moves faintly echo President Tim Leiwekes investment in David Beckham when Leiweke was in Los Angeles, although labeling MLS most dismal team a "super club" is wildly premature. The last Toronto team to "win" an offseason was the blue jays last winter. Howd that turn out? Dave Hodge, TSN: My thumb is up to California high-school basketball player Austin Hatch, and this story will explain itself. In two airplane crashes eight years apart that killed his father, mother, stepmother, brother and sister, Austin Hatch narrowly escaped death himself. The most recent crash in 2011 left Hatch in a coma for two months. 10 days earlier, he had committed to a basketball scholarship at the University of Michigan. This week, he played in a high-school game for the first time since the crash - his first shot was a three-point attempt, he made it - his schoolmates roared and his teammates jumped from the bench and stormed the court, causing an emotional celebration....and a technical foul. Hatch still looks forward to Michigan, where his scholarship will be honored. Thumbs up all around. Indeed. The England international had both goals in TFCs season-opening 2-1 win over the Seattle Sounders on Saturday. The International Scouting Services released their final rankings for the 2014 NHL Entry Draft with little change at the top. Sam Reinhart is the man the Florida Panthers will select with the first overall pick on June 27 in Philadelphia according to ISS. Reinhart, a centre for the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League, tallied 36 goals and 69 assists for 105 points in 60 games last year. He picked up 23 points in just 13 games in the Ices playoff run. Barrie Colts defenceman Aaron Ekblad is second on the list and may be on the Buffalo Sabres radar. Ekblad haad 23 goals alongside 30 assists for 50 points this past season in the Ontario Hockey League. Cheap Wholesale New Balance. Michael Dal Colle resides in the third spot and is one of purest goal scorers in this draft. The forward had 39 goals and 56 assists for 95 points in 67 games with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL this season. Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork. Nike Shoes Wholesale Free Shipping .com) - Isaiah McKenzie returned the games opening kickoff for a touchdown and scored on a punt return as the 17th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs blasted the Kentucky Wildcats 63-31 on Saturday. Hutson Mason threw a career-high four touchdown passes despite not playing one snap in the fourth quarter for Georgia (7-2, 5-2 SEC), which rebounded from last weeks 38-20 loss to Florida. Mason was 13-of-16 for 174 yards, and Nick Chubb rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown in the bounce-back win. Patrick Towles totaled 139 yards with a touchdown pass and ran for another score for the Wildcats (5-5, 2-5), who suffered their fourth straight loss. Towles completed 16-of-31 passes with one interception and added 60 yards on the ground. The Bulldogs got off to a great start in all three phases. McKenzie began the game by sprinting 90 yards to the end zone, the Georgia defense forced a three-and-out and Chris Conley caught a 15-yard touchdown pass to cap the first drive. After another brief Kentucky possession, Chubb scored on an 18-yard run with 4:57 left in the first quarter. The Wildcats battled back and outscored the Bulldogs 24-14 in the second quarter. Braylon Heard ran for a 3-yard touchdown and Austin MacGinnis kicked a 38- yard field goal after Georgia fumbled a short kick. Stanley Williams quickly answered Masons 23-yard touchdown pass off play action to Malcolm Mitchell with a 56-yard TD run. The Bulldogs went up 35-17 when Conley hauled in a 4-yard pass from Mason on a fade route, but two defensive penalties on the next Kentucky drive led to Towles scoring on a quarterback sneak with 16 seconds remaining before halftime. However, things fell apart for Kentucky in the third quarter. Towles was picked off by Corey Moore on the first play from scrimmage. The Bulldogs capitalized on the miscue as four Chubb runs preceded Jeb Blazevichs 10-yard touchdown grab. After a three-and-out by the Wildcats, McKenzie returned a punt 59 yards for a touchdown. Sony Michel scored on a 23-yard run later in the third, and Brice Ramsey threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Blazevich in the fourth. Towles connected with Javess Blue for a nine-yard touchdown with 3:22 to play. Game Notes Georgia has won five straight games against Kentucky and each of the last four meetings in Lexington ... The two-time Australian Open champion just returned to tour action last week after being sidelined with a foot injury for three months. Monday marked her first match win since the fourth round at the Aussie Open in January. Azarenka reached back-to-back Wimbledon semifinals before pulling out of her second-round match here a year ago because of an injury. ATLANTA - With an ice pack wrapped around his injured lower back, a frustrated Jonas Valanciunas spoke to the media having just watched his teams second straight loss from the visitors locker room, unable to influence the final result. Cheap Philadelphia Phillies Jerseys . After missing 20 games as a rookie a year ago, Valanciunas - like the Raptors as a whole - has been fortunate to be in good health this season. As he spoke about it, the Raptors sophomore centre scanned the room for wood to knock on. "It is disappointing because we lost today so thats the worst part of the day," said Valanciunas, who left Tuesdays game with a lower-back sprain in the third quarter, missing the rest of Torontos 118-113 overtime defeat at the hands of the Hawks. "Everyone wants to win and do something to help us win but I couldnt do anything sitting back here." With Valanciunas unavailable and Patrick Patterson missing his sixth straight game with an elbow injury, the Raptors found themselves as far outside their comfort zone as theyve been in months. Dwane Casey was forced to mix and match several different combinations of Amir Johnson, Chuck Hayes, Steve Novak and Tyler Hansbrough in the frontcourt while cycling through various unorthodox lineups to spark an underperforming second unit. All the while, Atlanta - winners of five straight after losing 14 of 15 - did them no favours. Following Sundays loss to the Suns, Casey was confident his team would not have to face the level of speed and quickness they saw that afternoon. Two days later, Jeff Teague had something to say about that. "He lived in the paint tonight," Kyle Lowry said of Teague, who matched his career-high with 34 points, hitting 11 of his 18 shots, all but six of them taken in the paint. "He got layups and free throws. You have a quick guy like that its hard for the bigs to try and help me and its hard for me to try to figure out where hes going. We tried to change our coverage a little and it worked but he lived in the paint too much tonight." "Its my fault," Lowry said, taking responsibility for his counterpart. But it wasnt, not entirely. "Its a speed league," he acknowledged. Its not the Raptors strength but theres too many up-tempo teams, too many quick players to allow it to be such a glaring weakness. Like Phoenix on the weekend, the Hawks burnt Toronto with speed, playing at a pace that the Raptors could not catch up with, especially with two key defensive players out of the lineup. Toronto tried blitzing Teague, they tried trapping him and switching and pick and rolls. More often than not the Hawks point guard blew by the coverage. He ran an effective two-man game with all-star Paul Millsap - who recorded his first career triple-double - and found open shooters. The Hawks hit 11 three-pointers, their seventh straight game with 10 or more. "We were trying to take away their threes," said DeMar DeRozan, who had 29 points to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists. "We did a good job to start out the game but we got out of place, missed some rotations and they started knocking down threes. They got confident with it and they kept knocking them down." "They make you change your coverages a little bit with the way they space the floor," added Lowry after a 20-point, nine-assist night. "But we had a decent chance to win that game." Late-game execution failed the Raptors - now 1-5 in overtime this season - once again. They turned the ball over eight times in the fourth quarter and overtime, also committing 16 fouls and giving up seven offensive rebounds. "I just thought we were casual with the basketball," said Casey, his team dropping back-to-back games for the first time since the West Coast trip in early February. "[We] had a lot of opportunities to attack and were casual and soft with our passes and they took advantage of it." The Raptors got off to a strong start, holding Atlanta to 17 points on 25 per cent shooting, including 2-for-9 from long distance in the first quarter. The momentum turned immediately as the second quarter began and the Raptors depleted bench came into the game. Without Patterson, Torontos second unit - outscored 59-11 on Sunday and 20-11 in the first half Tuesday - lacks spacing and movement on the offensive end and foot speed defensively. Then, late in the third quarter, the Raptors lost Valanciunas. The seven-footer felt his back tighten up as he turned to set a screen. "I stopped and hyperextended my back," he said. "I cant tell much about it. I just felt pain and that was it." Valanciunas, who hasnt dealt with back issues in the past, wanted to continue playing but the teams medical staff pulled him prior to the fourth quarter. For the third straight game the sophomore centre got off to a hot start, scoring 11 points and grabbing four boards in the opening frame. "I thought he had something good going, a match inside," Casey said. "He was attacking the rim, attacking the basket, he was giving us some rim protection and rebounding." Valanciunas will be re-evaluated in New Orleans ahead of Wednesdays game against the Pelicans. Wholesale Phillies Jerseys . He will just have to wait a little longer. The Napoli striker fired home Angel Di Marias deflected pass jusst inside the area, beating Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with a low shot to the far corner of the net. Cheap Pete Rose Jersey. Higuain came close to making it 2-0 in the second half when his shot smashed into the crossbar. Kendrick settled down after his first-inning struggles and kept the Brewers struggling offence in check over the next four innings. Wood hit a three-run homer, drove in four runs and held the Diamondbacks to one run in seven innings to lead the Cubs to a 5-1. Wood (1-2) gave up a run and six hits over seven innings. His four RBIs and nine strikeouts matched career highs. "It feels good that they kind of respect you up there and that youre doing your job," Wood said. "Im not out there in the nine hole just to fill a spot. Youve got to try and be the best you can at it." Bronson Arroyo (1-2) allowed five runs and eight hits in 5 1-3 innings for Arizona. The Diamondbacks have lost nine of 10 and have the worst record in the majors (5-17). Arroyo and Wood were plenty familiar with each other having been teammates on the Cincinnati Reds from 2010-11. Wood tagged Arroyo with his three-run homer in the second inning and RBI double in the fourth. With the bases loaded in the sixth, Gibson called on J.J. Putz to face Wood, and Wood hit the ball right back to the right-hander to start an inning-ending double play. "Its supposed to be the free out in the lineup," Arroyo said. "Tonight it obviously wasnt, I mean, (Wood) pushed across almost all the runs. Hes always been good at the plate, thats something you just dont want to let beat you, but thats the way it went tonight." Wood, with a grin, admitted he was swinging hard for another home run when he faced Putz. The right-handed swinging, lefty-throwing Wood was unsure if an opposing manager had ever made a pitching change with him at the plate. Cubs manager Rick Renteria said he has not previously seen a reliever brought in to face a pitcher. "He was a one-man wrecking crew," Renteria said of Wood. "I can see where (Gibson) was looking a guy who was swinging the bat today. His sense was he needed more velocity and Putzs split." Welington Castillo hit a two-out bloop single to right field to score Starlin Castro from second for a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Ryan Kalish followed Castillos RBI single with a single of his own to extend the inning. Arroyo fell behind in the count 1-0 before Wood hit a hanging slider for a three-run shot into the left field bleachers. It was Woods seventh career home run. Wood drove in another run in the fourth wiith an RBI double that nicked off Arizona centre fielder Tony Campanas glove near the wall. Air Jordan 1 Retro Cheap. Arroyo stranded Wood at second by getting Emilio Bonifacio to ground out to end the fourth, but Woods fourth RBI gave the Cubs a 5-0 lead. "Hes a good guy and a good pitcher," Wood said of Arroyo. "I was fortunate enough to get him tonight." Diamondbacks left fielder Mark Trumbo hit his MLB-leading seventh home run in the seventh. Trumbo hit the first pitch he saw from Wood into the centre field bleachers to cut the Cubs lead to 5-1. One of the Diamondbacks best chances to score against Wood came in the sixth. Arroyo led off with a broken-bat single to left field and Chris Owings singled to put runners on first and second with nobody out. But Wood struck out Hill, got Paul Goldschmidt to fly out to right field and forced Martin Prado to pop out in foul territory to strand the runners. "(Wood) was hitting that outside corner and he came out throwing his cutter inside early," Gibson said. "Mixing in his changeup, just hitting the corners. He tired a little bit there late, we had a good opportunity and we only got one run out of it." The Cubs had a prime opportunity to blow the game open in the sixth. However, they failed to score with the bases loaded and no one out. NOTES: The start of the game was delayed 1 hour, 1 minute because of rain. ... Cubs manager Rick Renteria said RHP Carlos Villanueva will remain in the starting rotation and make his next start Friday against Milwaukee. ... RHP Jake Arrieta (shoulder stiffness) pitched 5 2-3 innings at High-A Daytona, likely his last rehab start before being activated from the 15-day disabled list. Arrieta allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. He allowed three home runs. ... Diamondbacks CF A.J. Pollack was not in the lineup Monday after leaving Sundays game against the Dodgers in the sixth inning with stiffness in the left side of his neck. Pollack will be going to see a chiropractor and is day to day. ... OF Gerardo Parra was given the day off Monday. Parra is hitting .160 in his last six games. "Hes played every game and you see certain things in his game, hes just grinding down a little bit," Gibson said. "Everything weve been going through, its been tough on everybody and you just try and rotate the guys in and give guys a break." ' ' '

Reggie Abercrombie saw a hanging slider, got the barrel of the bat on the baseball and then raised his finger to the sky. Cheap Saucony Shoes . The Winnipeg Goldeyes (10-5) veteran slugger had delivered a monster two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth that gave the Fish a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the visiting Lincoln Saltdogs (6-9). "He kind of got a slider up and I got the barrel on it," said Abercrombie after the game. "Hes a good pitcher, but he made a mistake. You dont plan on this kind of thing happening, but when it happens, its sort of the reason you play baseball. Whenever you can do something like that for your team, its one of the things you try to enjoy." Not only did Abercrombie enjoy it, so too did his teammates, who met him at homeplate after he followed Donnie Webb across the plate. Webb had singled with one out in the bottom, of the ninth to set up Abercrombies heroics. It was a fitting ending to a brilliant pitching performance by veteran Goldeyes left-hander Chris Salamida, a performance that was almost lost. He threw eight innings of three-hit shutout baseball at Shaw Park, but the Goldeyes bullpen couldnt save his victory. Chris Kissock and Brendan Lafferty allowed four runs on five hits and two walks in the top of the ninth, as the Goldeyes blew a 3-0 eighth-inning lead and fell behind 4-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth. Its the first time this season the Goldeyes bullpen blew a save. "After Chris (Kissock) came out of the game, I batted him on the back," said Salamida. "Hell be back tomorrow and hell be great. Its just one of those things. Hell be back, better than ever next time." But thats when Reggie came on and hit his second homer in as many nights. Amazingly, the Goldeyes are now 8-2 this season in games in which theyve hit home runs. With the win, the Goldeyes took over sole possession of first place in the American Associations North Division for the first time this season. "I felt really good tonight," said Salamida. "After that bad start to the season, I made a few adjustments to my mechanics and slowed down my delivery. When you pitch too quickly, it affects other parts of the delivery and thats what contributed to the slow start. Tonight, I just tried to throw strikes and get ahead of hitters. I had only three strikeouts, but I dont really try to get a lot of strikeouts. I try to pitch-to-contact and let my defense do its job and the defense was perfect tonight. I have a great defense behind me." Salamida, who got off to a terrible start this season in his first two outings, pitched eight complete innings, allowing no runs on three hits and only one walk. He retired the first 11 batters he faced and had a one-hitter through six innings. The Goldeyes didnt score much early in the game, but with Salamida dealing, they didnt have to score much.Tyler Kuhn led off the game with a single and scored all the way from first on a double by Jake Blackwood. In the fourth inning, Ray Sadler singled, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Donnie Webb. And with one out in the eighth inning, Kuhn pounded out his second triple in as many nights and scored on a sacrifice fly by Blackwood. Bellamy (1-0, 6.35 ERA) got the win for Winnipeg, while Marshall Schuler suffered the loss (0-2, 2.35 ERA).The Goldeyes and Saltdogs will play Game 3 of this four-game series on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at Shaw Park. A day after general manager Mike Gillis expressed doubt over his own future and that of his bench boss, Vancouver Canucks coach John Tortorella wouldnt let himself be drawn into the speculation over his job status after the season. Puma Shoes Uk Sale . "Mike Gillis is my boss and I cant speak for Mike," said Tortorella of his bosss comments on Friday afternoon. "I dont know how to answer to him because I cant speak for him. I dont want to do that. Mike and I are always talking, but to answer that, I just cant. Its not fair to him or me." Sitting six points out of the final wild card in the Western Conference with only five games to play, the Canucks are set to miss the playoffs for just the third time in 13 seasons and the first time since 2008. Still, Tortorella expressed no interest in publicly discussing his teams and, by extension, his own future. "Youre digging at a spot Id rather talk internally about," he said. "Thats probably something we can talk about after the season is over. I have to worry about coaching a hockey team. We have five more games, a team that needs to better and thats my focus." Gillis spoke on Thursday of his teams inability to play up to the style and level of play that theyre accustomed to for much of the season and Tortorella acknowledged his concerns, but maintained that he and Gillis shared a similar vision. "The style of play that were teaching, were on the same page, yes," he explained. "And it was a style of play that we played at the beginning of the year and no one else is responsible for the falter of the team and not staying up with the style of play that needs to be played here than me. I let it go just through our whole situation with the injuries and didnt grab a hold of it quick enough. No one else is responsible." While placing the onus on himself for his teams decline in play, Tortorella shot down the suggestion that he was overworking his star players to the point of injury. The Canucks have lost 282 man games to injury with key contributors including Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa missing significant time. "Its easy to look at numbers and say you played them too much and that is not why theres been a struggle there," said Tortorella. "Youre not going to talk me into that. It just isnt, but I certainly have tried in the second part, as weve tried to get healthy in the second part of the year, tried to stretch it, but a lot of it is determined on depth within your line-up. I dont want to go much further than that because I think Ill be a little bit too critical and I dont want to do that here. Thats an organizational-type situation and an organizational conversation." The Canucks are next in action on Saturday night when they host the Los Angeles Kings. Cheap Puma Shoes Free Shipping . The struggling New Orleans Pelicans were simply overmatched. BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns fired their coach after one season. Running Shoes Uk Online . Now theyre sweeping out their front office. Owner Jimmy Haslam announced Tuesday that CEO Joe Banner will step down in the next two months and general manager Michael Lombardi is leaving the team. "Mike and Joe have left us in good position in terms of free agency and cap space as well as this years draft, where we have 10 overall picks and three of the first 35," Haslam said at a news conference. Its yet another stunning development for a franchise that has undergone nearly constant change in the past 15 years. Haslam also said assistant GM Ray Farmer, who was pursued by Miami to be the Dolphins GM this winter, has been promoted and will immediately take the over the teams football operations and lead the Browns during free agency and draft. Cleveland has two first-round picks in Mays draft and is well under the salary cap to spend on free agents. Haslam added that president Alec Scheiner will keep his current role. "Alec Scheiner will run our business side and remain as president, Mike Pettine will be our head coach and Ray Farmer will be our GM," Haslam said. "We will not have a CEO and those three people will report directly to me." The shake-up comes one month after the Browns finally hired coach Mike Pettine. Banner and Haslam had fired coach Rob Chudzinski after a 4-12 season, the teams sixth straight with at least 11 losses. Wisconsin said Tuesday that coach Gary Andersen was contacted by the Cleveland Browns for their coaching vacancy but decided not to pursue the position following a conversation with the NFL team, which spent 25 days to hire Pettine. "Mike will have final say on the 45-man roster-- who plays on Sundays-- and Ray will have final say on the 53-player roster," Haslam said. Banner, who previously worked in Philadelphia, was hired by Haslam to run the team shortly after his ownership was approved by the league in 2012. "We appreciate Joes contributions to the Cleveland Browns, especially in helping us as new owners," Haslam said in a release. "He was committed to creating a successful organization and bringing in talented individuals. We thank him for his work and dedication. We wish him and his family the best." Banner will transition out of his job over the next two months. "It is bittersweet leaving the Browns organization," Banner said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Jimmy Haslam and helping him set the infrastructure for this franchise. I am proud of the talented individuals we brought in to help lead this team and feel that the Cleveland Browns are in good hands moving forward." Lombardis departure ends a curious second stint with the team. His hiring was widely panned by some Cleveland media members and many fans because of his time with coach Bill Belichick when he was Clevelands coach. Lombardi kept a low profile over the past year in Cleveland and was not in attendance at any major news conferences. "Were also grateful for Mike Lombardis efforts and commitment since rejoining our organization," Haslam said. "He is an experienced and creative NFL executive with a unique ability to see the big picture. He has tremendous instincts and I know hell be a valuable addition to any NFL organization. We simply wanted to give Ray this opportunity that hes earned. We wanted to move forward under his leadership and capabilities." AP Sports Writer Tom Withers in Krasnaya Polyana, Russia, contributed to this report. Cheap Running Shoes Uk Online . They signed their first kicker. Ottawa inked Nick Setta, a 32-year-old native of Lockport, Illinois, to a contract. Best Running Shoes Uk .com) - Klay Thompson is quickly proving he is worth every penny of his recently signed four-year contract extension. http://www.clearancerunningshoesuk.com/ . "I only want to go through this one more time," Crosby said Friday. The 24-year-old captain hasnt played since the symptoms resurfaced following a loss to Boston on Dec. 5. Doctors allowed him to return to full practice on Tuesday and while Crosby is pleased with the way his body is responding he refuses to put on his return.TORONTO - Jonathan Bernier stretched and skated around in circles in his crease that was barely scuffed up. The Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender did everything he could to stay warm. The result was the easiest shutout in Berniers career as the Leafs tied a franchise record in allowing just 10 shots in a 4-0 rout of the lowly Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night at Air Canada Centre.Youre just trying to stay focused and make the save that you should make, Bernier said. I thought we played very solid. We kept everything to the outside. Probably the best game since Ive been here. The Leafs previously allowed 10 shots against Jan. 5, 2002 in a 3-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators. On Tuesday night, Toronto (4-4-1) put up 37 shots and broke the game open on goals by Tyler Bozak, Phil Kessel, James van Riemsdyk and Jake Gardiner. Before that, Buffalo goaltender Michal Neuvirth stopped the first 27 that came his way.As Bernier stood at the other end and waited through 39-plus minutes of a scoreless game, coach Randy Carlyle watched and hoped that one bad bounce wouldnt cost his team. Those are nervous times because you know that sometimes fate in sports comes and bites you the wrong way, Carlyle said after the Leafs second victory in six home games this season. That was what we were worried about. Youll question that all the time.Neuvirth was giving the Leafs plenty of reasons to question themselves. He stoned Nazem Kadri from in tight a couple of times just three days after beating the Sharks in San Jose. Neuvirth finished with 33 saves. Our goalie was outstanding for us, gave us a chance, Sabres alternate captain Josh Gorges said. We didnt respond. Thats by far not good enough. The dam burst late in the second period after the fifth penalty of the game on the Sabres (2-8). Kessel sprung Bozak for a breakaway goal with 49.6 seconds left that snapped the Leafs power-play skid at 0-for-28.I was going minute-by-minute, doing my best like every time I play, Neuvirth said. I think it was a big goal for them. ... I think if we could go into the locker-room tied 0-0, it would be a different story in the third. It wasnt. Kessel scored on a bank shot from below the goal-line, van Riemsdyk on a cross-ice pass from Morgan Rielly and Gardiner on a wrap-around.The rout was on, even if it didnt feel like it until the Leafs poured on the goals. You just got to stick with it, Kessel said. I thought we stuck with it, and then eventually it breaks and we were able to get a couple goals after that. This was a response game for the Leafs after getting throttleed by the Boston Bruins at home on Saturday night. Clearance Running Shoes Uk. Even if it was against a Buffalo team that could be one of the worst in the expansion era of the NHL, Carlyle wont discard these two points.Tonight everything fell our way, and well take it because we were in drastic need of a performance at home, Carlyle said. Because we were able to do it one night, it doesnt mean the next nights going to be easy. We know that were going to have to play, as we go forward, to a higher level than we did tonight.Defenceman Stephane Robidas said that if he and his teammates play as they did Tuesday night, Ill bet well win a lot more games than were going to lose. Unfortunately for the Leafs only three of their remaining 73 games come against the Sabres, who have just 10 goals in their first 10 games. This loss seemed all too normal for Buffalo, which sits in 29th in the NHL and could have worse days ahead. We had nothing, Sabres coach Ted Nolan said. Toronto had everything going, they were skating well. They deserved everything that they got, and we deserved what we got.Ten shots on goals was a new franchise low for the Sabres.Gorges, who refused to waive his no-trade clause to go to the Leafs and instead was sent from the Montreal Canadiens to the Sabres, said every veteran on the team must take responsibility for being better.I dont know who we think we are or what kind of team we think we are or what weve accomplished to be playing like that, Gorges said. We havent done nothing to be playing a cute game. We dont deserve to play a cute game and until we figure out that we have to work and scratch and claw and grind and dig in order to give ourselves a chance every night to win, then were going to have nights like this.Notes — Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf left the game late in the second period with what Carlyle said was a hip injury. Phaneuf returned at the start of the third period. ... Leafs forward Carter Ashton was a healthy scratch for the ninth straight game to start the season. Ashton would have had to pass through waivers if the team wanted to send him to the minors and is considered likely to get claimed. Carlyle referred to the 23-year-old as a good soldier earlier Tuesday for practising and not getting into a game so far. ... Sabres rookie Sam Reinhart, the second overall pick in Junes draft, played in his eighth NHL game. He can play one more before the first year of his contract counts with the 10th, or Buffalo can send him back to Kootenay of the Western Hockey League.___Follow @SWhyno on Twitter ' ' '

Just past the three-quarter mark of the 2013 MLB season, Scott Cullen digs into the numbers to make his picks for awards to this point of the season, along with Gold Gloves, All-Surprise and All-Disappointing teams: AL MVP Miguel Cabrera, 3B, Detroit (40 HR, 120 RBI, . Authentic Doug Flutie Jersey .359 AVG, 1.133 OPS) Runners Up: Mike Trout, LF, L.A. Angels (21 HR, 78 RBI, 28 SB, .333 AVG, 1.004 OPS) Chris Davis, 1B, Baltimore (45 HR, 115 RBI, .306 AVG, 1.071 OPS) Cabrera has put up numbers that would be sensational for a full season and, despite his fielding and base-running issues, his bat puts him in position to go back-to-back. Trout, who was runner-up last year, may not get as much consideration, since the Angels have been terrible, but Trout continues to be great and easily could win under different circumstances. Davis has been mashing, and has rebounded from a July slump but, even so, he has a tall order to overtake Cabrera. Adrian Beltre, Evan Longoria and Robinson Cano have been very good, but theyre not at the level of the top three. NL MVP Joey Votto, 1B, Cincinnati (18 HR, 58 RBI, .314 AVG, .931 OPS) Runners-up: Paul Goldschmidt, 1B, Arizona (31 HR, 100 RBI, 13 SB, .297 AVG, .945 OPS) Andrew McCutchen, CF, Pittsburgh (17 HR, 71 RBI, 26 SB, .316 AVG, .901 OPS) This race has been wide open all year, though this trio of candidates may be settling in. Votto hasnt put up big counting numbers, but he gets on base like no one else (.432 OBP leads the NL). Goldschmidt has the power numbers to draw attention, is a good defender and the Diamondbacks are at least contending for a playoff spot, so no argument if he turns out to be the winner. McCutchen started the season slowly, but has been gaining steam with strong play since the beginning of July. He does play a more demanding position than the other two finalists and if the Pirates are a playoff team, it could be hard to keep McCutchen from the winners circle. AL CY YOUNG Max Scherzer, Detroit (18-1, 2.82 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 185 K, 172 1/3 IP) Runners Up: Felix Hernandez, Seattle (12-6, 2.62 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 182 K, 178 2/3 IP) Yu Darvish, Texas (12-5, 2.68 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, 214 K, 161 IP) Record isnt the measure of a pitcher, so its merely good fortune that Scherzer also happens to have an 18-1 record, but strong strikeout numbers and the fewest baserunners per inning in the AL earn him the nod. Felix Hernandez had closed the gap, possibly overtaking Scherzer, before allowing 11 earned runs over his last three starts. That Yu Darvish puts up such great numbers despite pitching in Texas is a credit to him and warrants inclusion in this discussion, ahead of Chris Sale and Hiroki Kuroda. NL CY YOUNG Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles (12-7, 1.80 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, 182 K, 190 1/3 IP) Runners-up: Matt Harvey, N.Y. Mets (9-4, 2.25 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, 187 K, 171 1/3 IP) Adam Wainwright, St. Louis (14-7, 2.66 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 173 K, 189 2/3 IP) Kershaw has been ridiculously dominant, so much so that even Harvey, who has been sensational, isnt going to catch him. Wainwright has slipped lately, opening room for Jose Fernandez, Madison Bumgarner or Patrick Corbin to overtake him by seasons end. AL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR Leonys Martin, CF, Texas (6 HR, 31 RBI, 27 SB, .276 AVG, .724 OPS) Runners Up: Jose Iglesias, SS/3B, Boston (2 HR, 23 RBI, .321 AVG, .765 OPS) Dan Straily, LHP, Oakland (6-7, 4.21 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 92 K, 113 IP) The American League rookie class has been mediocre all year, but there is hope for late surges from call-ups Nick Franklin, Chris Archer and Wil Myers so that one of them could overtake Martin or Iglesias at the top.. NL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR Jose Fernandez, RHP, Miami (9-5, 2.41 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 157 K, 145 2/3 IP) Runners-up: Yasiel Puig, RF, Los Angeles (12 HR, 28 RBI, 7 SB, .352 AVG, .979 OPS) Hyun-Jin Ryu, LHP, Los Angeles (12-4, 2.95 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 126 K, 155 2/3 IP) The thin AL crop only looks worse when contrasted with the outstanding National League rookie class. Fernandez has been the best pitcher in baseball for more than a month, Puig has exploded onto the scene and Ryus season-long consistency places him ahead of Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller. GOLD GLOVESC - Russell Martin, PittsburghRunners-up: Yadier Molina, St. Louis; A.J. Ellis, Los Angeles Molina is an all-time great and could easily win again, but Martin has been outstanding in his return to the National League. Miguel Montero, Welington Castillo and Salvador Perez are all having strong seasons behind the plate too.. 1B - Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs Runners-up: Paul Goldschmidt, Arizona; Yonder Alonso, San Diego Youth is served, with Rizzo just ahead of Goldschmidt, while Alonso, Eric Hosmer and Brandon Belt are all above average around the bag. 2B - Brian Dozier, Minnesota Runners-up: Dustin Pedroia, Boston; Brandon Phillips, Cincinnati Dozier, a former shortstop, has proven to be more than competent with the glove on the other side of second base while veterans Pedroia and Phillips are near the top in Ultimate Zone Rating. Teh As Eric Sogard and Cubs Darwin Barney are also viable candidates. 3B - Nolan Arenado, Colorado Runners-up: Manny Machado, Baltimore; Evan Longoria, Tampa Bay Arenado and Machado have been amazing, ranking at the top in Defensive Runs Saved and Ultimate Zone Rating. Longoria is also at the top tier, while Chase Headley and Juan Uribe have been very good, but not quite at the level Arenado, Machado and Longoria. SS - Andrelton Simmons, Atlanta Runners-up: Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado; Pedro Florimon, Minnesota Its a one-horse race as Simmons is likely the best fielder in all of baseball. Tulowitzki and Florimon are very good, among the mortals, while Yunel Escobar, Clint Barmes and Pete Kozma have had strong seasons with the glove. LF - Starling Marte, Pittsburgh Runners-up: Andy Dirks, Detroit, Alex Gordon, Kansas City Martes range puts him at the head of the class, a position that used to be held by Carl Crawford, who has been good when healthy this year. Andy Dirks is lesser-known, but a strong fielder and Alex Gordon is consistently above average. Yoenis Cespedes and Nate McLouth are among other left fielders playing well this season. CF - Carlos Gomez, MilwaukeeRunners-up: Lorenzo Cain, Kansas City; A.J. Pollock, Arizona Gomez is a sensational fielder, who effectively blocked Cain from regular duty in Milwaukee, but Cain has shown this season that hes an elite defensive outfielder too. Pollock made the most of his opportunity when Adam Eaton was injured, earning him the nod ahead of Jacoby Ellsbury and Andrew McCutchen. Lewis Hamilton has insisted he always had the Hungarian GP under control, telling Sky Sports F1: I knew what l was doing. Authentic Frank Clark Jersey . Hamilton took the lead into the first corner and led the race from that moment until the chequered flag, but appeared to be struggling with pace as title rival and team-mate Nico Rosberg closed to within a second on two separate occasions during the closing stages. I knew what I was doing, its not like Ive not been doing this for a long time, said Hamilton. There was never a moment that I felt that I was going to lose it. Because its so hot here, you dont need a five or ten second gap. I just need to do what I have to do.After grabbing the lead off the line, Hamilton never opened a gap larger than three seconds and at one point was asked by his Mercedes team to increase his pace in order to shake off the third-placed Daniel Ricciardo. Its really about give and take. If I picked up the pace in those early moments, I might not have been so quick in those last moments. Today I really owned it and did what I had to do. Model Barbara Palvin congratulates Hamilton on his victory Hamiltons victory was his fifth at Budapest, setting a new record as he overtook Michael Schumacher to become the most successful driver at the Hungaroring.Through the weekend I got stronger and stronger. To win the grand prix and have a so-so weekend, Im pretty happy with that, he said.Mercedes request to Hamilton to increase his pace included a warning that the team might have to let Rosberg pit first if he didnt up his speed. He immediately did so, causing some in the paddock to speculate whether Hamilton was deliberately attempting to back-up Rosberg into Ricciardos Red Bull.It was nothing to do with Nico, I had no plans on him being anywhere else but second. I wanted him to stay in second. I was just managing the tyres, insisted Hamilton.I was chilled the whole time. I said to them just be chilled, I know what Im doing. Sky F1s Johnny Herbert described Hamiltons victory, the 48th of his career, one of the most mature races hed seen from the Englishman while the world champion himself admitted his impending engine penalties were on his mind throughout the race.Theres no maybe about it, this engine wont go until the end of the season, Hamilton conceded.Im trying to turn down the engine and save it where I can. It was just about managing it today, I didnt need to win by five or ten seconds.Up next is the home race of his title rival - the German Grand Prix, which is also the last race before Formula 1 takes a break for summer.Whereas Rosberg insists he is taking one race at a time and isnt thinking about the points gap, Hamiltons view is quite the opposite:I want to go into the summer break with what I have now, at least, he said.Hamiltons lead in the championship is now six points. Robert Griffin III, the No. 2 pick in the 2012 draft, set numerous rookie records and was picked AP Offensive Rookie of the Year for the Washington Redskins. Shanahan could get the chance again in his first season in Cleveland. The Browns own the fourth pick in the NFL draft and are expected to take a quarterback, possibly former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M. "The most important thing is asking them to do what theyre great at and then working and improving on other aspects of their game," Shanahan said. "You dont need a certain type of quarterback, you just want a good quarterback." New Browns coach Mike Pettine introduced Shanahan on Thursday along with defensive co-ordinator Jim ONeil and special teams co-ordinator Chris Tabor. Pettine took different routes to land the trio. He never worked with Shanahan but was impressed by his six years as co-ordinator, two with Houston and four with Washington. ONeil played for Pettines father, Mike Sr., in high school in Pennsylvania and they worked together for the last five years with the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills. Tabor will enter his fourth year in Cleveland -- with his third head coach. "I think the guys are going to instantly respect the guys weve hired because its, to me, a staff of men of high character, vast football knowledge, coupled with the ability to teach it," Pettine said. Pettine was impressed by Shanahans scheme flexibility and the success of his offences, either throwing or running. In four of Shanahans six years as co-ordinator, his offence ranked in the top 10 in yardage, and Washington in 2012 became the first team in NFL history to pass for 3,400 yards and rush for 2,700 yards in the same season. &"Kyle Shanahan is one of the best offensive minds in football," Pettine said. Authentic Richard Sherman Jersey. However, the 34-year-old Shanahan and father Mike Shanahan, the Redskins former head coach, were let go by Washington on Dec. 30 after going 3-13. Griffins production slipped in his return from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in the playoffs in 2012, and his relationship with the Shanahans deteriorated. Shanahan said he learned a lot from his time with Griffin. "We did a lot of real good things together," Shanahan said. "Im very proud of that first year. I think he arguably had one of the best years in NFL history for a rookie quarterback, and I enjoyed coaching him. "Anytime you go through a 3-13 season, its tough, it is a challenge, its a challenge on your relationship. Youve got to deal with a lot of stuff, a lot of negativity, and the thing I learned going through that, especially with a high-profile guy, theres a lot more stuff that comes out. I think Robert and I got through a very tough time, we managed to keep our relationship through the year. Im not going to say it was easy." ONeil is a co-ordinator for the first time. He was linebackers coach in Buffalo in 2013 and spent the previous four years working with defensive backs for the Jets. Notes: Pettine hired 11 more assistants Thursday, nearly completing his staff: quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains, wide receivers coach Mike McDaniel, offensive line coach Andy Moeller, running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery, defensive line coach Anthony Weaver, strength and conditioning coach Paul Ricci, assistant offensive line coach George DeLeone, assistant strength and conditioning coach Chris DiSanto, offensive quality control coach Richard Hightower, assistant strength and conditioning coach Derik Keyes and defensive quality control coach Tony Tuioti. OWINGS MILLS, Md. Cheap Diamondbacks Jerseys Authentic . -- The Baltimore Ravens have put middle linebacker Rolando McClain on the reserve-retired list for a second time. McClain retired last year, but recently announced his intent to return to the NFL. After being reinstated by the Ravens last week, McClain abruptly said he was retiring for good. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound McClain signed a one-year contract with Baltimore last year but never played a down with the Ravens, retiring after his arrest for disorderly conduct in Alabama. By putting McClain on the reserve-retired list, the Ravens retain his rights if he should again change his mind. McClain was the Oakland Raiders first-round pick in 2010 after starring at Alabama. In three seasons with Oakland, McClain had 246 tackles and 6 1/2 sacks. Cheap Arizona Diamondbacks Jerseys . The Big Man finished 2-2 in Week 13, and sits at 33-20 on the season. Now Schultz is ready for more action. Montreal at Ottawa A couple of questions here. First, can the RedBlacks build off the performance of last Sunday and the 35-32 loss? I say yes. Scoring 32 points on a Riders defence is a significant accomplishment and the game really came down to a couple of poor decisions by Henry Burris late in the game and overtime. With the good play of Tino Sunseri in the second half, you can put to rest all the Burris to the Riders trade rumors. And to a similar degree, you can stop the is Jonathan Crompton the man conversations. He is for this week. At 1-10, Ottawa might look at this season as a complete disaster if they were not an expansion team. But it is not. Ottawa will go into this one hungry, especially in an effort to give their fans just the second win at home. Just keep improving, Ottawa and the wins will begin. Montreal will play to keep with all in the West and logic says they win. But I will dismiss logic as irrelevant and say... Ottawa over Montreal at TD Place. Saskatchewan at Edmonton This is a good one, a tough one to pick and maybe the best one of Week 13. As much as Tino Sunseri responded in the second half against 0ttawa, it took him a half to do it. On the road against a better defence in Edmonton, it will be tougher to create that type of success. Adarius Bowman had a nightmare of a game against Hamilton. He has to answer questions about it all week and watch it over and over and over in video review on Monday. He still leads the CFL in receiving yards so all football logic says he will respond with a great game again. Archie Bradley Jersey. He is too physically gifted and too motivated not to. The Eskimos have lost three of four and what was a possible division-winning team is now looking like a division playoff team. Bowman will respond and so will Edmonton. Edmonton ties the Riders in the West at 9-4. Hamilton at Winnipeg Both teams will come into this one confident for different reasons. For Winnipeg, the confidence will be coming off the bye week with time to rejuvenate and reassess where they have been and where they are going. If Drew Willy is starting, that would be amazing considering the intensity of his shoulder injury but most likely, it will be Brian Brohm. For Hamilton, they are on a roll, winning three in a row at Tim Hortons Field and the 38-31 loss in Montreal back on September 7 was a game they could have won. If Willy was starting with a week of practice, I would take the Bombers in a classic fourth quarter comeback game. But I dont think he is, therefore I cant. Hamilton BC at Calgary Tough one. BC is coming off a 40-23 loss and Calgary is coming off a 31-15 loss. The Stampeders have only one loss by one point to one team at home and that team is BC. Drew Tate had only 15 completions last week, but his second start should be better than his first. At 7-5, the Lions are only one game ahead of Winnipeg at 6-6. Both teams need the win but only one team can get it. An 11th win for Calgary or an eighth win for BC. Which will it be... which will it be? Think, think, think... I got it. Calgary by 3 ' ' '

LAKE FOREST, Ill. Authentic Dennis Byrd Jersey . -- The Chicago Bears have agreed to a four-year contract with second-round draft pick Ego Ferguson. The Bears have been moving quickly to wrap up their picks, with six of eight having already agreed to deals. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Ferguson had 58 tackles in his lone season as a starter last year and is considered raw after leaving school a year early. He was suspended from the Outback Bowl against Iowa for violating team rules and did not work out at the NFL combine because of a right ankle injury he suffered in the days leading up to it. In addition to Ferguson, the Bears announced Tuesday they agreed to four-year deals with fourth-round draft pick KaDeem Carey (running back, Arizona), sixth-rounder Patrick ODonnell (punter, Miami, Fla.) and seventh-rounder Charles Leno Jr. (offensive tackle, Boise State). The Bears also agreed to deals with safety Brock Vereen and quarterback David Fales on Monday. First-round pick Kyle Fuller of Virginia Tech (cornerback) and defensive tackle Will Sutton of Arizona State (third round) remain unsigned. Carey figures to back up running back Matt Forte after running for 1,885 yards as a junior last season and being picked the Pac-12 offensive player of the year. Leno was a first-team all-Mountain West Conference selection as a senior. ODonnell spent four-plus seasons with Cincinnati (2009-12) and Miami, Fla. (2013) and averaged 43.5 gross yards on 234 punts. Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Tuukka Rask, Boston Bruins (5) – He had a brilliant game; it was a huge response for his average games before. He delivered when needed by his team; was the best player on the ice. He had huge saves on Bournival and Eller in first, Gionta on a breakaway in the second. He had elite rebound control: everything was just hitting him and dying. Huge left pad save again on Gionta in third period, great Subban pass to Weise and Rask makes a big right shoulder save. Stopped Gionta again in tight shorthanded. He was locked in all night, his positioning was outstanding. Made it look easy. Carey Price, Montreal Canadiens (5) – He had a big save on Bergeron in the first, a great reaction save on Smith in the second, handled the puck real well on wraps on boards and around net, and had three posts/crossbar plays against. He was poised, calm and cool in the third. When he was not busy, he did not lose focus on a few in-tiight shots. Cheap Jets Jerseys. Sign of tremendous mental toughness. He was very composed on a big save on Perrault, a glove save on Silverberg was great as well. He had no chance on Selannes back door goal. He was his acrobatic self in net, made great saves on Maroon and Perry in tight. The Lovejoy goal was a short side shelf shot, stoppable with how good his glove is. Frederik Andersen, Anaheim Ducks (3) – He was calm and cool in the net, had a big save early on in game on Voynov. He had some rebound issues with a lot of pucks, but was great at battling in-crease. He had big saves on Williams, Kopitar, and Brown. Gave them a chance to win, until his injury. Jonas Hiller, Anaheim Ducks (4) – He came in cold with under 10 minutes left in the third, made good saves on Doughty, Kopitar and Carter right away. Tough task to come in cold, but he did a solid job settling in. Bad rebound on Richards goal, but found a way to hold on. ' ' '
