in a variety of ways on his way to 10 sacks in the first 13 games of the season and he found a new way in Chicago’s 14th outing.Mack got twisted around while engaged with Packers tackle Jason Spriggs on a passing play Sunday Womens Chase Daniel Jersey , but didn’t let his inability to see Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hinder his efforts. Mack kept moving in Rodgers’ direction and got credited with a half-sack by backing into Rodgers while teammate Bilal Nichols closed in on the other side.“By any means necessary,” Mack said, via the . “The guy kind of grabbed my face mask Bennie Fowler III Jersey , so I couldn’t even look at the quarterback. I didn’t know where he was at. I’ll take it if they gave it to me.”Mack had two more conventional sacks of Rodgers as well and is tied with Browns defensive end Myles Garrett for sixth in the league with 12.5 on the year. That’s more than his former team has managed altogether — the Raiders have 12 sacks on the season — and leaves him five short of Richard Dent for the Bears’ single-season record, so there’s little doubt that the Mack trade has had serious ramifications for both teams involved in the deal. The standoff between the Chicago Bears and No. 8 overall draft pick Roquan Smith is over.A person familiar with the situation says the linebacker has agreed to a four-year contract that guarantees $18.5 million and includes an $11.5 million signing bonus. The person spoke Monday night on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been announced. The Bears sent out a news release announcing Smith will be available to reporters after Tuesday’s practice, though they did not say an agreement is in place.Smith is the final pick from this year’s NFL draft class to reach an agreement — because of a hangup over the contract language. The sides disagreed over whether the team would be allowed to take back guaranteed bonus money if he was suspended for disciplinary reasons http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-taylor-gabriel-jersey , including a violation of the league’s new rule preventing players from leading with their helmet.Smith participated in offseason activities, but has been absent since Chicago reported to camp on July 19 and has missed two preseason games. The Bears visit Denver on Saturday.Smith is the first Chicago player of note to hold out since running back Cedric Benson missed 36 days in 2005. The Bears are usually among the first teams to sign all their picks. With his speed and athleticism, Chicago views Smith as a potential cornerstone at inside linebacker for a defense that ranked 10th overall last year. Smith helped lead Georgia to the national championship game last season and was the Butkus Award winner as college football’s best linebacker.Chicago has four straight last-place finishes in the NFC North and just one playoff appearance since the 2006 team’s Super Bowl run. The Bears fired coach John Fox and replaced him with Matt Nagy after last season.

http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-trevor-williams-jersey , Saints quarterback Drew Brees had become the odds-on favorite to win his first ever NFL MVP award. After Thursday night, it’s slightly more complicated.Brees had a rough game in a big spot, capped with a head-scratching interception that came on a drive that still could have resulted in the team’s eleventh win of the season. He completed 18 of 28 passes for only 127 yards, an average of 4.5 yards per attempt. Throw in one touchdown pass and one pick, and Brees had a passer rating of 71.6, his lowest in nearly two years.Given that the decidedly non-Brees performance from Brees came in front of the biggest audience in history, it definitely becomes a factor in the looming MVP vote. And it takes a chunk out of what recently seemed to be an inside-track candidacy for the future Hall of Famer who has never won the prize.Apart from boosting the chances of guys like Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes Womens Desmond King Jersey , Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, and one or more of the Rams’ stars who merit consideration (Gurley, Goff, Donald), the Dallas win over the previously invincible Saints pushes Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott closer toward the fringes of the argument. The topic came up last week, after Elliott’s 86-touches-in-12-day moved the Cowboys from 3-5 to 6-5. Then there’s the fact that Elliott convinced his teammates to treat each game as a “must” win Brandon Mebane Jersey , and they’ve responded.Performance plus leadership equals value. Elliott, who had a quiet-for-him-but-still-impressive 136 yards from scrimmage last night, deserves consideration, especially if he and the Cowboys keep doing what they’ve been doing. And here’s the inescapable reality. Even after the next 15 games are played over the balance of Week 13, a full 25 percent of the season will remain on the books. Which means that most if not all of the postseason awards will remain up for grabs. Not that any of it matters to the candidates. The only postseason award any of them care about is the trophy that will be presented at the end of the game that will be played in Atlanta come early February. But if Elliott, who curiously gets omitted when the Cowboys talk about contract extensions, could win the MVP award http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-michael-schofield-jersey , that would be an important development for his financial future, in Dallas or elsewhere. Los Angeles Chargers Gameday Open ThreadLos Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos open threadNew,354commentsByRichard Wade@RichardWadeDec 30, 2018,1:16pm PSTThe 11-4 Los Angeles Chargers travel to Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos with an opportunity if things break right elsewhere to claim the #1 seed in the AFC. The Chargers are 6.5-point favorites despite being on the road and it’s better for both franchises if the Bolts win, but this is a division game and those rarely go according to the script. Los Angeles is likely in for a fight. That said, they are as healthy as any Chargers team in memory as they head into the final game of the regular season. Philip Rivers will have all of his receivers available and all three running backs in Austin Ekeler Womens Corey Liuget Jersey , Justin Jackson, and Melvin Gordon will also be suiting up for the game. The offense as a whole and the offensive line in particular hae a lot of to prove after they were taken apart by the Baltimore Ravens last week.On defense, the Chargers will not have to contend with either of the Broncos’ top receivers that they entered the season with as Emmanuel Sanders is out due to injury and Demaryius Thomas is no longer on the team. Their incredible rookie running back, Phillip Lindsay, will also be sidelined with an injury.Go Bolts!

With Lane Johnson? Quick: what’s the biggest issue for the Philadelphia Eagles http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-fletcher-cox-jersey , right now?I’d argue it’s pure execution. They’re just dropping the ball — literally and figuratively — in key moments. That’s little stuff that you expect to regress back to the mean; you expect to get ironed out by veterans and competitors. But it is neither fun nor constructive to write about the crazy fumbles that haven’t fallen Philadelphia’s way; the small penalties that put them behind the sticks. So we go to the next answers to the question: what’s the biggest issue for the Philadelphia Eagles? Some would say the secondary; I certainly would. That’s something I wrote about last week, and will continue to touch on throughout the season. Some will say the offensive line, and that’s what I’ll be covering here. The offensive line is playing wellSorry, I needed to get that in there, clearly and unequivocally, before we got into the film. The offensive line is generally playing pretty well — better than a lot of lines in the league. They remain an elite run-blocking unit that has opened up rush lanes regardless of who’s touting the football; their athleticism and power show up in pass-protection.They’ve been struggling with blitz recognition and the consequent coordination among one another and the ancillary pieces (running backs and tight ends). These are unit-wide issues that usually cannot be attributed to any one player every single time; they belong to the recognition and communication of every player along the line, the running backs, the quarterbacks, and the coaches in film study the week previous.Charted pressure does not interest me very muchI know, when I say that Womens Jake Elliott Jersey , the first response will be the pressure statistics offered by charting services at the end of every NFL week.I was talking with a bunch of football guys a while back, and we brought up Pro Football Focus. Anybody involved with football to a certain degree knows that PFF is a controversial service, in terms of accuracy and value of information. But this isn’t even about PFF — they just happened to be the example here.I was told that, among the services that provide charting data to NFL teams, the degrees of variance between services is staggering. Upwards of 70% differences between PFF, SIS, ESPN charting data, NFL Next Gen Stats, et cetera. NFL teams basically throw away pressure data they get from these services, because of how much it varies from their internal numbers.Who’s right? I don’t really know. But I know I’ll trust good film analysis before I’ll trust highly subjective charting numbers.Even within the same service — PFF grades the Eagles’ offensive line with worse pressure rates this season Derek Barnett Jersey , as compared to last — I still take pause. I don’t dispute more pressure has been surrendered, but the origin and affect of this pressure is far more interesting to me than whether or not it happened.Let’s look at an example.Carson Wentz was pressured on this play: PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Treyvon Hester’s fingertips made the second-year pro a popular guy in Philadelphia. The Eagles (10-7) are heading to New Orleans (13-3) for a divisional playoff game Sunday because Hester barely tipped Cody Parkey’s 43-yard field-goal attempt just enough to send the ball bouncing off the upright and crossbar, securing a 16-15 win at Chicago in the wild-card round.“It’s crazy. My social media (following) tripled,” Hester said Friday. The 6-foot-2, 304-pound defensive tackle didn’t even see where the ball went after he touched it.“I felt I didn’t get enough of it because when I looked back, it looked like it was on the right path,” Hester said. “I turned back and it bounced off and the rest was history. I didn’t see it bounce off because I was so frustrated. I heard the reaction of the crowd and saw the team running out there. It was a surprise. I couldn’t believe it happened.”Hester began the season on Philadelphia’s practice squad after Oakland released him at the end of training camp. He was a seventh-round pick by the Raiders out of Toledo in 2017 and appeared in 14 games as a rookie. The Eagles promoted him to the active roster in October and he worked himself into becoming a part of the defensive line rotation. Hester has played anywhere between 16 and 58 percent of the snaps in 12 games. He got his first NFL sack on Deshaun Watson in Week 16 and was on the field for 12 snaps against the Bears.“Treyvon has come up big for us,” defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said. “He got his hand up and did what he was supposed to do at the right time and we were able to get the win.”Hester is surrounded by talented, experienced guys on the defensive line, including All-Pro Fletcher Cox http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-ronald-darby-jersey , Brandon Graham, Chris Long, Tim Jernigan and Haloti Ngata.“I’m trying to make a name for myself but I got a lot of vets out here helping me out, helping me improve my game, so I’m grateful,” he said. “Without Haloti Ngata, I wouldn’t have been able to get the push that I got because we both get down there and try to get the guy in front of us out of the way, so credit to him.”Hester said it was the first time he blocked a field goal in his career and it was the first one in the postseason in franchise history.“First of many,” Hester said. “It’s definitely a big confidence booster and I would like to continue to make more plays and help this team win any way I can.”Hester has found his role on the Eagles, giving the defending Super Bowl champions an opportunity to continue their quest for a repeat.“It’s fulfilling Womens Chris Long Jersey ,” Hester said. “Philadelphia proved me right, allowed me to show what I can do. I owe them everything.”Notes: LT Jason Peters (quadriceps), DE Michael Bennett (foot), CB Sidney Jones (hamstring), WR Mike Wallace (ankle), WR Shelton Gibson (hamstring) and LB D.J. held out of the team’s mandatory minicamp because he wants a new contract. Three weeks later Womens Brandon Linder Jersey , there are no signs that the two sides are any closer to a resolution. The even suggests that the holdout could drag into the regular season, which would be a disappointing development both for Ngakoue (who could start losing game checks in addition to the fines he’s already piled up) and for the Jaguars (who don’t want to start the season without a pass rusher who has 29.5 sacks in his first three NFL seasons).Ngakoue is heading into the fourth and final year of his rookie contract and is slated to make a salary of $2.025 million this season. That’s far below the going rate for pass rushers of his quality http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-niles-paul-jersey , but the Jaguars may figure they don’t need to be in any hurry to give him a big pay raise, given that he’s a bargain this year and could be kept for the franchise tag next year.If the Jaguars aren’t willing to pay Ngakoue what he’s asking for Corey Grant Jersey , the only leverage he has is withholding his services. Training camp opens on July 25, and at the moment no one knows if Ngakoue will be there. It didn’t take long for Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette‘s attempt to return to the lineup in Week Four to hit a snag.Fournette missed two games with a hamstring injury and he was back in the locker room getting medical attention before the end of the first half against the Jets. Fournette was ruled out a short time later and Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said on Monday that he wasn’t sure how long the running back will be out.Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports that a Sunday MRI of the injury didn’t show a more significant injury than the one Fournette suffered in the season opener. If that’s the case http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-keelan-cole-jersey , recent history suggests the running back will be missing at least a game or two before the Jags will be looking to get him back on the field. The Jaguars travel to Kansas City and Dallas in the next two weeks. T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant would step into the backfield if Fournette is out of action and the Jaguars offense hasn’t found it too tough to move the ball when those two have been in the game this season.

I got this idea from a series of articles at The Draft Network, where they are giving their superlative picks in seven different categories for all 32 teams. I thought it would be a fun exercise to run through myself, so fun in fact that I sent the questions out to our team as well. And since I didn’t want us to have all the fun, I even shot out the question on Twitter to get your takes. We’ve already looked at the Breakout Guy for the 2019 Chicago Bears, the Comeback Kid, the Rising Star, and the Don’t Forget About for the ‘19 Bears But before we get into our picks for the Bear that needs to rebound, let’s see who Joe Marino of The Draft Network picked. That Draft Network article was published before the Bears released Elliott Fry, but the sentiment remains. Finding a kicker has been an issue for the Bears for years, but I liked the ‘throw a bunch of spaghetti at the wall’ approach the team took this offseason. In hindsight this is something they should have done after cutting Robbie Gould. No need to bring in a veteran trying to hold on back then when the Bears were starting a rebuild. They should have signed a youngster and let him grow into the role, because that’s how most successful kickers start in the NFL, and had they done that they could have had their veteran kicker in place in 2019. For my pick on the Bear that needs to rebound Womens Walter Payton Jersey , I’m staying with the third phase and going with special teams coordinator Chris Tabor. Besides the punt returning excellence of Tarik Cohen, Chicago’s special teams haven’t been all that special. The kicking problems are obvious, but there was a handful of coverage breakdowns in 2018 that the Bears need to clean up. Simply adding Cordarrelle Patterson will help the kick returns, but Tabor needs to tap into the teachings form one of his mentors, Dave Toub, to get the Bears’ special teams back on track. Now let’s check on who some other WCG staffers picked as their Bear that needs to rebound in 2019.Patti Curl - Chris TaborThe Bears special Teams coordinator needs to get that 3rd unit bouncing back quickly if the Bears want to be the comprehensively-dominant force ravaging their way through the post-season that I believe they can be.Erik Duerrwaechter - Bears Special Teams It wasn’t just the kicking game that generated a lot of memes in 2018. The entire special teams group stank aside from Tarik Cohen’s take on ridiculousness. A revolving door has developed at kick returner since Devin Hester’s departure, and lane integrity along with tackling for both kick and punt coverage units has been sub-par. The arrival of Cordarrelle Patterson likely solves the problem at kick returner. Now, we just need to hope that #BearsSpecialTeams doesn’t rear it’s ugly face anymore. Check out Jeff and EJ on their latest Bears Over Beer Podcast as they preview the 2019 Chicago Bears season with Lester! Josh Sunderbruch - Adam Shaheen, TEI have seen more promise out of Bunting this offseason, and I’m not convinced Bunting is going to make the roster. Shaheen was one of those risks that Pace seems to specialize in, and so far this one has not paid off. He needs to earn his roster spot this year.Sam Householder - Adam Shaheen, TEHe’s the most obvious candidate. It’s put up or shut up time for the third-year pro. He has to stay healthy and start showing the flashes we’ve (briefly) seen at other points in his career. He was never healthy last year and he missed a lot time his rookie year. There were some late camp reports that maybe he was starting to get it together, but that has yet to be seen in the regular season.Ken Mitchell - Adam Shaheen, TEThe Bears tight end needs to stay healthy and show more than just flashes. It’s time for him to fish or cut bait.Robert Zeglinski - Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, SStylistic adjustments are going to have to be made to accommodate Clinton-Dix’s skill-set in Chicago’s defense. While he offers more upside in sheer playmaking than his predecessor, Adrian Amos http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jim-mcmahon-jersey , Clinton-Dix is far too alike to his former Alabama teammate Eddie Jackson to see the Bears deploy the former Packer like they did Amos. This means a lot more two-high safety looks. It develops into potentially allowing two centerfielding safeties to do whatever they please. There’s no reason to distrust a noted superstar like Jackson in this scenario. But for Clinton-Dix, after being jettisoned by two teams in one season due to poor tackling effort and reliability, he doesn’t have the benefit of the doubt. One of the most noticeable weak spots on an otherwise sound defense can’t afford any slip-ups.Robert Schmitz - Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, SLet’s get this out of the way: there’s a reason that Ha Ha Clinton-Dix signed such a cheap deal with the Bears, and it wasn’t because he was playing at an all-star level in Green Bay or Washington. He clearly has skills as a ball-hawk, but his poor performance as a tackler and other inconsistencies left him with no better options than a one-year “career restart” on a defense where he’ll be surrounded by phenomenal talent. He has a lot to offer the Bears, especially in the way of Free Safety depth, so if he can rebound successfully both he and the Bears will enjoy a great year.Aaron Leming - Trey Burton, TEBurton’s first half of the year was excellent. He was exactly the player the Bears had hoped to get and looked like a perfect fit for the team’s new offense. Then the Thanksgiving game against the Lions happened and he simply wasn’t the same after that. On top of all that had happened, he missed the team’s playoff game against the Eagles with a groin injury and later had Sports Hernia surgery. He’s been worked back into football activities slowly but is expected to be ready for Week 1. He’s a big factor in this offense, even if he’s just out on the field. Burton’s contract ties him down until after the 2020 season, so he needs to available and effective. Now let’s check in with Twitter to see what some of you guys had to say about your pick for Bear that needs to rebound. Now it’s your turn, who is your Bear that needs to rebound for the 2019 season?

Womens Corey Liuget Jersey , Russell Okung has been held out of football since being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism, a condition that had Russell not seen a doctor as quickly as he did after noticing shortness of breath during practice, could have cost him his life. Seeing as this was not only career threatening, but life threatening, many of us have only been rooting for Okung to survive and live a healthy life. The Chargers placing him on the NFI (Non-Football Illness) List which keeps a player off your active roster for 6 weeks to start the season seemed more like the team was buying themselves time to evaluate him before needing to end his season.Yesterday, Okung shared this with the world via twitter:The news of Russell Okung winning his battle with the life threatening illness is not only phenomenal news in and of itself, but I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t nearly as excited to hear the possibility of Okung coming to rescue the Chargers offensive line in hollywood-movie-plot fashion. Did he say Week 7?That thought seemed like a far fetched technicality referring to being activated off the NFI list rather than for this weekend’s game after being held out of football for almost three full months. However Dan Feeney Jersey , he has already been back to practice this week, and Eric Williams shared a response he got from Anthony Lynn on the left tackle’s availability:It doesn’t take much reading between the lines to see this implies he should be out there Sunday. Anthony Lynn may keep things close to the vest, but this would be a very elaborate response to give off a strong impression that he’s playing when he isn’t, and that’s not something he’s done up to this point. Trent Scott, an undrafted rookie in 2018 had one career start prior to being asked to man the left tackle position since Okung’s diagnosis. Already in a difficult position for any backup, he’s been asked to do this on a line that hasn’t possessed the ability to favor his side in pass protection in the way they should. Scott has done more than he should’ve been asked to, but if Okung is physically cleared http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-watt-jersey , a day and a half of practice with his experience and ability would never hurt the team compared to what they’re asking Scott to deal with. His return could not possibly have been better news for a struggling Chargers team coming off back to back losses to a Broncos team that was then 0-4, and a Steelers team that came into the game 1-4 fielding their third string quarterback in a loss that wasn’t as close as the score suggests. Injuries throughout the roster have been devastating, especially when taking away the only two proven, dependable veterans on the offensive line. Plugging Okung back into the starting lineup whether that be this week or next is indescribably good news. Couple that with the return of Hunter Henry last week who can offer some support in blocking to go with his dynamic receiving ability and a struggling Chargers offense is getting a huge boost up front. For a team looking to fight their way into the playoff picture, they couldn’t have received any news better this week. Not counting his rookie year where he was only targeted six times, Williams’ overall grades since 2016(75.6, 62.0, and 65.9) aren’t particularly strong but he has shown the ability to gain big chunks of yards down the field.Re-grading the 2018 NFL draft: Mel Kiper on the best, worst rookie classes - Mel Kiper Jr. (insider)The Chargers didn't get a ton from the rest of the class -- one to mention is Uchenna Nwosu, who had 3.5 sacks in the regular season and a huge strip sack in the playoff win over the Ravens -- but James being an elite defender means I can't drop them far. I also like the potential of Kyzir White, who played some linebacker as a rookie as L.A. was hit with injuries.Extension Candidate: Melvin Gordon - Rory ParksGM Tom Telesco has said that he is open to considering an extension for Gordon — who is entering the final year of his rookie deal — this offseason http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-ladainian-tomlinson-jersey , per Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times. Rob Weintraub’s All-NFC East Team - Football OutsidersQB: Carson Wentz Womens Harold Carmichael Jersey , PHI. Right now, fans in Philly are calculating what the Kelly Blue Book value is for the Wentz Wagon, but the fact remains that in just 11 games Wentz put up considerably more DYAR (549) than anyone else in the division (Eli Manning was second with 344). Even if Nick Foles’ total of 74 in five games was prorated to a full season, it would come to much less than half of Carson’s numbers. Wentz was 12th in DVOA as well. Division winner Dak Prescott was 25th in DVOA, unlike 2016, when he piloted the Pokes to the division crown and was third in the NFL in that metric.Ranking the top 5 running backs in the 2019 NFL Draft - BGNJosh Jacobs is the savior of this running back class and we should be thankful for his declaration. His blend of play strength, athleticism, and receiving ability combine to form the most “complete” back in the class. The question is, if his film is so good, why did he accrue less than 300 touches at Alabama? To be honest, I have no clue. On one hand, it’s impressive that a 3-star recruit cracked the rotation at all considering Alabama’s stable of 5-star studs. On the other, shouldn’t it have been apparent that he was the guy this year? Damien Harris’ surprise return hurt his chances, but the major question is one I’m not qualified to answer. Putting the volume question aside, Jacobs has everything you want in a feature back except prolonged, proven results. He’s a playmaker in a sea of roleplayers and likely is the top workhorse selected. The best part? He looks pretty darn good scoring on mesh-sit wheel http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-randall-cunningham-jersey , an Eagles staple. The QB Scho Show #11: Super Bowl Extravaganza - BGN RadioMichael Kist is joined by Mark Schofield to break down Tom Brady, Jared Goff and much more in their Super Bowl special! Four of the last five years, he’s been part of a defense that finished in the Top 11 in the league in takeaways. That was a major weakness for the Eagles in 2018. If Burke can help there, that would be huge. A lot of people were down on Schwartz and the defense during the 2018 season, but it sure looks like injuries were the primary problem, not coaching. Schwartz has 10 years of experience working with Burke. This is obviously a coach he knows and likes. The Eagles don’t need major schematic changes, but it certainly can’t hurt to bring in someone who could be a good fit for the staff. Burke knows Schwartz’s scheme and ideas. He’s also been away from Schwartz so he may have some new ideas to bring to the mix. I don’t see Burke as a successor to Schwartz. Doug Pederson would bring in a new DC, not let Schwartz hand pick his replacement. The Question Of Avonte Maddox And Where He Fits Best - PE.comOUTSIDE CORNERBACK: This is a very difficult group to project. The Eagles began the season with Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills starting on the outside at cornerback. Both of those players ended the year on Injured Reserve and Rasul Douglas and Maddox finished the season as the starters. Both of those young players made progress. Darby, rehabbing from a knee injury, is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March. Mills is recovering from a foot injury that was serious enough to keep him sidelined for half the season. Second-year man Sidney Jones, who opened the season as the starting cornerback inside, battled a significant hamstring injury for the second half of the season. He needs to take a big next step in the offseason. There are some developmental players and young veterans Ron Jaworski Jersey , like Josh Hawkins and Chandon Sullivan, whom the Eagles have to consider in the equation as well.2018 NFL trade grades: The 30 most impactful of the past 365 days - ESPNHow much is one catch worth? Tate seemed to become a burden on the Eagles’ offense, which was already overfilled with options in the slot, and the former Seahawks and Lions standout racked up just 25.3 receiving yards per game with a lone touchdown during his eight games in Philly. After being marginalized, though, Tate came through with a big 28-yard catch over the middle of the field against the Bears in the wild-card game before bringing in a fourth-down throw from two yards out for a touchdown to give the Eagles a 16-15 lead with 1:01 to go. Tate finished his season with 18 yards against the Saints in the divisional round, and with the Eagles in rough salary-cap straits, he has likely played his last game in a Philly uniform. General manager Howie Roseman gave up a third-round pick and paid Tate $3.7 million, but with the Eagles likely sitting out unrestricted free agency, they should recoup a compensatory pick in 2020 for their troubles. With a wildly unimpressive wideout market available, Tate should get in excess of $10 million per year on a short-term deal, which should be enough to net the Eagles a fourth-round selection.Top-10 Free Agent Linebackers in 2019 - PFF1. Jordan Hicks. After missing much of the 2017 season with an Achilles injury, Hicks made big — and maybe unexpected — strides in multiple facets in 2018. The former third-round pick upped his efforts in run defense, as he posted a career-best 81.3 run-defense grade (10th) while missing just five tackles all season. As a result, Hicks posted a grade north of 80.0 for the second time in his career, and his upward trajectory makes him an enticing option in free agency.Who is Matt Burke? - Phin PhanaticThey also brought in a thumper inside in MLB Lawrence Timmons from Pittsburgh. Burke know’s the deficiencies in this group and that Miami need to get Linebackers who can excel against the run but are also efficient in pass coverage. The Dolphins will most likely target Temple LB Reggie White Jersey , Hasson Reddick at No.22 or look at Florida’ Jarrad Davis, Vanderbilt’s Zach Cunningham, Wisconsin’s T.J. Watt or Ohio State’s Raekwon McMillan depending on who is still there at No.54. Matt Burke was not a splashy hire, but the continuity he brings and his reputation around the League as a highly intelligent football coach should help the Dolphins. He is tasked with trying to turn around a Defense that has struggled since switching to a 4-3 back in 2012. While some may worry as this is Burke’s first job as a coordinator at any level, the Dolphins had success last season with a young and inexperienced coaching staff.15 Eagles identify their best and worst plays of the season - The AthleticJohnson: “I don’t know really. Howie was hired to do the job that he does. . . . So Pederson trusts Roseman and the scouts he oversees to do that job.“That’s not my expertise. You lean on so much on our scouting department,” Pederson said. For the Eagles, that’s a refreshing change from Pederson’s predecessor, Chip Kelly, who demanded more and more personnel authority — and ran the roster into the ground in the process. Womens Leonard Fournette Jersey , I’m not advocating Leonard Fournette should or shouldn’t be on the 2019 Jacksonville Jaguars roster. That’s for you to decide at the end of this article. But Alfie Crow..."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Jaguars Free Agency 2016Jaguars Film RoomNFL DraftJaguars Injury NewsLatest NewsShould the Jaguars move on from Leonard Fournette? New,295commentsin college as chronic, it’s actually been the soft tissue stuff that has hamstrung Fournette. As a rookie in 2017, Fournette missed three total games, two of which were due to injury. Fournette sat out a game in October with an ankle sprain and one additional game in December after a quad injury following an Earl Thomas hit against the Seahawks. So far in 2018, we already know that a hamstring injury has limited Fournette to appearances in just 6 of 13 games. As a quick refresher, Blackmon played 16 games his rookie year before missing the first four in 2013 with suspension. Blackmon returned to play four contests weeks 5-8, and then never donned a Jaguars uniform again. Not to misconstrue anything, I’m not comparing Fournette to Blackmon. Fournette has had his own disciplinary issues, and perhaps more than we even know about behind the scenes, but he has not had any concerns with substance abuse, etc... His suspensions and benchings have largely stemmed from immaturity and from following him from afar, it certainly seems that his election as team captain by his teammates was more due to his popularity as a prankster in the locker room and a lack of other options on the offensive side of the football. Who else was going to be an offensive captain? Newcomer Austin Seferian-Jenkins? An injured Marqise Lee or a quiet Andrew Norwell? Was there really any other serious candidate? It’s essentially as if Fournette ran unopposed for that captaincy, and as a genuinely likable guy, it’s easy to understand why he was voted in. The maturity on and off the field has certainly been a source of frustration for fans, coaches, and front office, but what has been more alarming has been that the message doesn’t seem to be resonating. He doesn’t seem to be getting it. Fournette was benched for a game in 2017 for missing a team photo, and his “big man on campus” mentality seems to be something that has carried over into 2018. If you’ve listened to Monday’s Jaguars Happy Hour on 1010XL this season, it’s been mentioned by Tony Boselli and Pete Prisco that there has been speculation that Fournette has missed scheduled appointments for treatment on his hamstring. Though unconfirmed, if this is the case, it would make sense that the Jaguars traded a fifth round pick for Carlos Hyde due to the regime’s frustration and why the team had such a difficult time forecasting the amount of time that Fournette’s hamstring took to heal. Based on those comments, it sounds like he didn’t do himself much favors to rehab it. Perhaps they were sending a message to Fournette. If they were, the message didn’t stick.Against the Bills a few weeks ago, Fournette now famously put his helmet on and ran into a fracas to throw a punch at Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson, causing him to not only get kicked out of a winnable game and cost his team a tremendous scoring opportunity on the goal line, but also had rippling repercussions in a league-mandated one game suspension and fine that may have waived Fournette’s remaining guaranteed monies in his contract. Fournette apparently apologized to his teammates and said he would learn from the incident. Earlier today, TMZ released video of Fournette threatening to beat a fan’s ass in last week’s Thursday Night Football debacle against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. There’s concern that Fournette could yet again face a fine from the NFL league offices for this incident Barry Church Jersey , but after hearing Doug Marrone’s comments today, it sounds like the team will not be penalizing Fournette and his reaction was charged by a racial slur.Durability. Maturity. Take a second and scroll up on how many words had to be written just to cover those topics in this article. It’s a borderline laundry list, and we haven’t even gotten to his quality of play so far.Fournette’s presence in the offense has been evident. There’s no question about it. His availability has huge impact on the offensive play calling and affects the defenses in the vein of flooding the box and forcing the quarterback to win through the air. But after a season of watching other top ten draft selections at the running back position — Saquon Barkley, Ezekiel Elliott, Todd Gurley, Christian McCaffrey — quite frankly, Fournette’s play has been nowhere near the quality of anyone on that list. Bias aside, Fournette has looked lethargic hitting the holes this year, has shown a lack of vision in diagnosing running lanes, and constantly runs into traffic when there are wide open areas available to him for explosive plays. This isn’t just my opinion, as Jaguars all-time great running back Fred Taylor has shared similar dissonance with Fournette, even going so far as to say he would have taken a handful of runs to the house that Fournette got stifled for a short gain. Jeff Lageman and Tony Boselli have also corroborated this notion on the radio. Eyeball test aside, the numbers certainly correlate that Fournette’s production largely comes from high carry volume versus efficiency. In 2017, we saw Fournette lead the NFL with not only one, but the two top-timed speeds per NFL NextGen Stats. In 2018, we have seen nothing close to this type of explosiveness from Fournette despite having shed a bunch of pounds in preseason to increase his burst. I’m watching Saquon Barkley superman hurdle upright players and juke open field tacklers out of their shoes week-in and week-out while Fournette has a play or two each game where he seemingly stumbles over his own feet.Could this be a result of the lingering hamstring? Sure. Do the crowded eight man boxes and skeleton crew offensive line help? Nope. None of these contextual factors, however, have anything to do with Fournette’s poor judgment and decision-making thus far. Neither his hamstring nor Tyler Shatley made him throw a punch on a play he wasn’t even involved in.So the Jaguars are essentially at a crossroads this offseason. Does the front office feel that Fournette’s promise of talent outweighs the amount of headaches that comes with him? If not, it would behoove them to use Fournette as ammunition in a potential offseason move while he still has perceivable value. In the NFL, players are like stocks, and Fournette’s is undoubtedly on the decline at this point in time. Just like the stock market, however, Fournette can have a monster game next week against the Redskins next week an be on the upswing. It’s just the nature of the league. As I mentioned in the beginning of this article, this is all for you to decide and help formulate an opinion. For me personally, this all simply boils down to two questions. If Leonard Fournette’s contract expired this offseason, would you pay him the top-tier RB contract that he would demand based on these first two years? If not, do you trust Fournette to mature and become a more dedicated professional on and off the field in the next two seasons while under his rookie deal?If the answer to both questions is no, then there is your answer. If that’s the case http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-ereck-flowers-jersey , then it would be prudent for the Jaguars to consider moving Fournette while he still has value. Maybe they can package Fournette in a trade up to acquire their franchise quarterback in the draft such as Dwayne Haskins? Depending on how the order shakes out, a player like Fournette could be a tremendous bargaining chip in a potential move up. If I told you the Jaguars could save a 2020 first round pick by offering Leonard Fournette instead to, say, Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders for example, would you prefer to keep the future draft pick or keep Fournette?Again, for you to decide. Would you consider moving Fournette? Would you be surprised if they moved on in the offseason? Let us know. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes had finally thrown an interception, the first all season for the Chiefs‘ talented young quarterback, and the Jacksonville offense had shuffled back onto the field. The Chiefs immediately strip-sacked Blake Bortles to take the ball right back.Their beleaguered defense also picked off Bortles four times and sacked him five, and Chris Jones took one of those interceptions back for a touchdown, proving during a 30-14 romp over Jacksonville on a soggy Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium that the Chiefs are more than just an offensive dynamo.“It shows what kind of team we are,” said Mahomes, who finished with 313 yards passing and ran for a touchdown. “I’m just excited to come out with a win on a day the defense made plays.”Oh, the league’s highest-scoring offense still made plays.Kareem Hunt ran for 87 yards and a touchdown, and Travis Kelce hauled in five catches for 100 yards, helping the Chiefs (5-0) move the ball at will against the NFL’s top-rated defense.Tyreek Hill, who was frequently matched up with the Jaguars‘ Jalen Ramsey in an entertaining one-on-one affair, added four catches for 61 yards as the Chiefs rolled up 424 yards total.“That play calling was something I’ve never seen before,” said the Jaguars’ Tashaun Gipson, who picked off Mahomes before leaving with a groin injury. “Tip your hat to them. Obviously, the offensive personnel they’ve got — they came out here and they beat us.”The game eventually grew into a testy affair, resulting in a pair of ejections.Jones was booted in the second half after he dropped an elbow on a Jaguars lineman while both were on the ground following a point-after attempt. Then, pass rusher Dee Ford joined him in the locker room when he was whistled for his second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.“You can’t let emotions get the best of you,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said.If anybody had reason to get frustrated it was Bortles, who was 33 of 61 for 430 yards with a touchdown and those four interceptions . Most of his yardage came in garbage time, and while he ran for a touchdown, he also was strip-sacked during Jacksonville’s miserable first half.Mahomes led the Chiefs 73 yards on their first possession, finishing the drive himself with a short scramble for a touchdown. Then he led the league’s high-powered offense 82 yards for a field goal a few minutes later Womens Brad Nortman Jersey , leaving Jacksonville’s vaunted D second-guessing itself.Meanwhile, the Jaguars’ offense was having all kinds of problems.Jacksonville (3-2) drove inside the Kansas City 5 early in the second quarter, but an incomplete fade on third down and another incompletion on fourth turned the ball over. Bortles was stripped on the first play of their next possession, and he threw the pick-6 to Jones on the first play of the next. The calamitous half ended when Bortles, trying to force a pass into the end zone, instead bounced it off his offensive lineman’s helmet and right to Steven Nelson for another interception.“It felt a lot like some games we’ve had in the past, just moved the ball, there were some good things done, we had some bad turnovers,” Bortles said. “You can’t turn the ball over.”In Bortles’ defense, his offensive line didn’t give him a whole lot of time. Along with the five sacks, the Chiefs were credited with 11 hurries, spending most of the game in his face.Bortles’ only real highlight came late in the game, when he escaped the collapsing pocket and angled toward the sideline, then lowered his shoulder to finish off a 21-yard touchdown run .The Jaguars recovered the onside kick, only for the Chiefs to force another turnover on downs.“They did a good job early in the game getting a lead. They did a good job early on third downs in the game. Offensively, we didn’t execute,” Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said. “Again, we had a poor showing in the red zone, we had turnovers, and the game got out of hand. Got to play better. We’ve got to coach better, play better. We got to go back and get this team back on track.”RAMSEY VS HILLHill had nothing but praise for Ramsey after the game, though he did beat the Jaguars cornerback for one long gain. As for Ramsey? “I felt like I did pretty well. Really well, to be honest,” he said. “I won the majority of the matchups today, put it that way.”STATS AND STREAKSThe Chiefs’ first TD was the first allowed by Jacksonville on a team’s opening possession. … The Jaguars have not started 2-0 on the road since the 2007 season. … Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon had 53 yards rushing. … Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins had six catches for 78 yards.INJURIESJaguars: RB Corey Grant (foot) and LT Josh Wells (groin) left in the first half. as the Bears begin their quest for a new tailback." Latest NewsBreaking NewsFrom The Desk Of...Bears trade Jordan Howard to Eagles for 2020 sixth-round pickNew Cody Whitehair Jersey ,835commentsThe bruiser is taking his talents to Philadelphia as the Bears begin their quest for a new tailback. CDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Bears trade Jordan Howard to Eagles for 2020 sixth-round pickTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailPhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesWhen it comes to Jordan Howard and trade rumors, the writing has been on the wall for what seems like an eternity. After Bears head coach Matt Nagy confirmed that Howard was on the trade block at the NFL’s owners’ meetings earlier this week, many felt it was only a matter of time before the 24-year-old would be calling a new city home. On Thursday night, those suspicions were confirmed. The Bears have traded Jordan Howard to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2020 sixth-round pick reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The selection has a chance to become a fifth-rounder based on unspecified conditions. The Howard era in Chicago — where he ran for 3,370 yards in three seasons as one of the lone bright spots of John Fox’s tenure — has officially come to a close. It’s no secret the Bears have been looking for a more versatile tailback to fit Matt Nagy’s offense. Where players like Howard and Tarik Cohen are productive in their own rights, they have their individual limitations. The difference with Cohen is that the Bears effectively value his propensity for explosive plays that much more than they do Howard’s bruising style. For the Bears to completely take the next step as an elite offense, they know they have to have a less predictable back to deploy as necessary. Howard’s trade is but another major signal of their ambitious overall goal.Of course there’s always a certain peril when trading proven players for late round draft picks, and especially to direct NFC competitors. To make a move of any kind with your own productive player means not being comfortable with his overall skill-set as it pertains to your system. Nagy’s offensive scheme needs more of a versatile tailback to thrive on all cylinders. Through 778 carries and 44 starts, the Bears feel they possess enough information to know Howard doesn’t fit their profile and they moved on accordingly. Howard does fit somewhere else in the league. Being the fastest in Bears history to 10 100-yard rushing efforts — faster than Walter Payton of all people — is an example of what Howard’s capable of when an offense is tailored around his strengths as a specific bell cow. He can wear a defense down if given the chance and the touches in strategic moments. The issue is that the Bears and Nagy no longer had a vested interest in accommodating Howard in such a fashion. However http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-jonathan-bullard-jersey , Nagy’s friend in Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is a testament to carving out a specific goal line and power role. Just ask LeGarrette Blount and his Super Bowl LII ring. If I were to grade this trade off of its immediate merits with no games played — often a foolhardy prospect — I’d say the Bears and Eagles came out with the rare win-win. Philadelphia needed a situational runner such as Howard, and the Eagles’ coaching staff has experience in integrating such players into an offense. The Bears meanwhile salvage some measure of value for a player in the last year of his rookie contract. A player many surmised they would’ve released before the open of the 2019 season anyway. If there were a better offer, general manager Ryan Pace and company would’ve readily snatched it. What is also abundantly clear is that Howard’s eventual #RevengeGame against the Bears in Philadelphia next season should be a doozy. Running backs are still valuable in the modern NFL. They can play a role in a successful and diverse offense if used properly. But teams like the Bears are increasingly treating them like a dime a dozen. If you can find a Howard in the fifth round, like the Bears did and so many organizations do every April, you can assuredly try, try again. The Bears move forward with Cohen, newly-signed Mike Davis, and one gaping hole they’re more than prepared to fill at the end of next month. The Bears have added some depth to help replace Akiem Hicks on the defensive line, signing Brent Urban, according to his agency, CAA.Urban, 28, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Ravens out of Virginia. The Mississauga, Ontario native spent five seasons with the team, tallying 3.5 sacks and 52 tackles in that time frame. He also started all 16 games for Baltimore last year, in addition to starting three games in 2017.The veteran played in four games with the Titans this year Bobby Massie Jersey , playing on 62 defensive snaps but not posting any production. He was released from the team on Saturday. At 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, Urban carries impressive length and a muscular frame for the interior defensive line. He has also solid athleticism and can slide out to the 5-technique spot. The Bears bring Urban in after allowing a 119-yard, two-touchdown performance to Latavius Murray on Sunday. Murray’s performance marked two consecutive 100-yard, two-touchdown games Chicago has allowed on the ground, giving up 123 yards to Josh Jacobs in London in Week 5.EDIT: The corresponding move now that the signing is official has Jonathan Harris being placed on waivers. EDIT: The Denver Broncos claimed Harris for their 53-man roster on Wednesday.

was a disaster today in New England.Chargers defensive back Adrian Phillips left the game on the first series with what appeared to be a left shoulder injury. If Phillips is out that would be a major blow to the Chargers. Phillips is one of the Chargers’ most important players on defense — he wears the helmet with the speakers in it to call the defensive plays — and he led the NFL in special teams tackles during the regular season. He also had an interception and a fumble recovery last week against the Ravens. To add insult to injury http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-watt-jersey , the Chargers gave up a touchdown on the Patriots’ opening drive. Sony Michel ran the ball six times, the last one for a touchdown, and the drive was aided by a pass interference penalty in the end zone. On the Patriots’ touchdown, the Chargers only had 10 players on the field. The game couldn’t have started any better for the Patriots, or any worse for the Chargers. The Los Angeles Chargers haven’t needed to rely too much on their run game during their first two games, but that might change on Sunday against the unbeaten Rams. The Chargers (1-1) have called runs on 37.5 percent of their plays the first two weeks, which is the fifth-lowest percentage in the AFC. Despite that, they are averaging 116 yards Womens Travis Benjamin Jersey , which is above the league average of 104 yards. In other words, Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler aren’t getting a lot of carries, but they are making the most of their plays.“They’ve been very effective,” offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt said. “It’s been a tremendous help for us because it opens up other things like play action.”Gordon has only 24 carries, which is his lowest total for the first two games in his four-year career, but he is tied for the team lead in receptions with 15. Gordon had the second three-touchdown game of his career in last week’s 31-20 win at Buffalo, with two TDs coming on catches. He’s also gained over 100 yards from scrimmage in six of his last eight games dating to last season. While the quarterback matchup between the Chargers’ Philip Rivers and the Rams’ Jared Goff is attracting plenty of attention, the running back battle between Gordon and Todd Gurley is tantalizing as well. Both were drafted in the first round in 2015 Keenan Allen Jersey , with Gurley having the advantage so far. He led the league in yards from scrimmage last season with 2,093 while Gordon was fifth (1,581).“We compete. It’s not like we hate each other. We both want to prove we are the best back and it happens that we compete in the same city,” Gordon said.Ekeler had a career-high 77 yards on 11 carries in last week’s win at Buffalo. Three of his longest carries came on runs off the left side.Whisenhunt continues to find different ways to use the second-year back. In the opener against Kansas City, Ekeler caught a 13-yard touchdown while last week he was getting most of the carries.“They are starting to use both of us in different ways and it has been working,” Ekeler said. “It’s going to be important again this week because they have a real solid front five. If we can get the run game going early that can help us in play action.”The Chargers have a lot of experience facing a Wade Phillips defense. They faced Phillips twice a year when he was with Denver in 2015-16.The Rams have one of the best interior pass rushes in the league with Ndamukong Suh and Aaron Donald at the tackles. They also have gone 12 straight games without allowing a 100-yard rusher. One of the best matchups could be center Mike Pouncey going up against Suh. The two went up against each other often during practices in Miami the past three seasons.“That’s going to make things a lot easier for me and a lot of other guys,” Gordon said of Pouncey. “You have a bully like that up front that ain’t scared to back down, that gets them other guys going.”Pouncey http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-ladainian-tomlinson-jersey , who is in his first season in Los Angeles after seven seasons in Miami, said getting the run game going early is going to be vitally important this week.“Any time you can run the ball it keeps us on schedule,” he said. “We have been over 100 yards in each game, which is something to build off of.”___Follow Joe Reedy at www.twitter.com/joereedy___

was actually thanks to a phenomenal play by Treyvon Hester who actually tipped the kick. But that doesn’t really matter Womens Richard Rodgers Jersey , because either way, Eagles fans wanted to send their appreciation to the former kicker for sending them to the next round of the playoffs.Parkey may have received instant backlash from the Bears community, but from the looks of things, he’ll be drinking on Philly’s dime for awhile, with fans flocking to send the kicker beer money on Venmo. This is very much akin to fans donating to the Minnesota Vikings Foundation after last year’s playoff win — partially to atone for the poor behavior of a few rowdy fans (although it was absolutely a two-way street). But, I digress. Donations to Parkey ranged from $2 — one for each goalpost hit — to the cost of a stadium beer.If you’re thinking of joining the movement, be warned that the onslaught of donations triggered many users to change their Venmo account name to capitalize on the good will of Philly fans. And while Parkey isn’t soon to forget those final moments of the wildcard game Jordan Matthews Jersey , Eagles fans can remember it too with this commemorative t-shirt [CLICK HERE]! The Eagles have struggled over the past two games, due in part to the absence of receivers Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson. It’s more and more clear that one of them, Alshon Jeffery, will be back on Thursday night from a calf injury.“I expect him to play,” coach Doug Pederson told reporters on Wednesday. “Obviously, with the limited full-speed practice reps this week, he took part in everything this week. He feels good http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-avonte-maddox-jersey , so I would expect him to go.”And if he goes, the offense will be more likely to go.“It just gives our offense a lift from the standpoint [that] he’s a veteran player, a guy that Carson [Wentz] knows, understands, and he’s a good player,” Pederson said. “It can help. It’s good to start to get our guys kind of back a little bit. A guy like Alshon is going to obviously draw some attention, especially with these two corners that they have [in Green Bay].“It does open up guys like [Nelson Agholor]. It does open up guys like Zach [Ertz] and Dallas [Goedert]. So being able to spread the ball around and find the open receiver is just critical in our passing game.”Pederson added that Womens Josh Sweat Jersey , with Jeffery back, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside would slide to backup status. The other backup, Mack Hollins, apparently will be playing, because Jackson apparently won’t be returning from his abdominal injury.

With long-term contracts looming for guys like Grady Jarrett and Deion Jones and an extension for Julio Jones also promised, it was unlikely that the team would be able to be big players in free agency. That said, the team freed up around $7 million in cap space using an automatic salary conversion in Matt Ryan’s contract and found a way to use that cap space by signing Jamon Brown and James Carpenter. At this point, it seems highly likely that both guys will go into the season as the presumed starters at both guard spots. Our own Eric Robinson has done a great job looking at how these guys will fit in with the team this year. I want to take a look at the structure of their contracts and how it is helping the team in the short term and the long term.Jamon BrownJamon Brown signed a three-year deal worth $18.75 million with $12.5 million fully guaranteed. As you can see in the chart below, his signing bonus of $5.5 million gives the team the ability to limit his cap hit this year while also getting him the cash he was looking for. At an average of under $7 million per year, his deal puts him in the middle of the pack for his position. It’s a very reasonable deal that could be very team friendly if Brown ends up being a quality starter in Atlanta.James CarpenterJames Carpenter signed a four-year deal for a maximum of $21 million and just $7 million guaranteed. His cap hit will never exceed $6.5 million in any year of the contract and his first year cap hit of $2.875 million gives the team the flexibility to pursue long-term deals with some of their own guys. Ultimately, the value of these deals will be proven on the field. However, the Falcons certainly recognized the issue on the offensive line and made two solid moves to address it. The fact that they did not break the bank to do it shows this front office is not as foolish as many fans seem to think they are. LAKE FOREST http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-long-jersey , Ill. (AP) — Defensive end Akiem Hicks refers to the Chicago Bears‘ defense as dominant.Resilient might be a more appropriate description. The NFC North champion Bears (11-4) keep bouncing back from difficult situations to bring the heat on defense, and are within sight of achieving one major goal they set before the season as they head to Minnesota for Sunday’s regular-season finale with the Vikings (8-6-1).“Dominant, that’s it,” Hicks said. “We are aggressive. We like to hit.“All the stuff that I was telling (media) before the season started, we’re everything that we said we were. And hopefully we can get to another level for these playoffs.”It hasn’t been a solid, steady rise for coordinator Vic Fangio’s defense, yet they rank fourth in the league and are No. 1 at taking away the ball with 36 turnovers forced.Prior to this season, Hicks and many Bears spoke openly about trying to get into the top five in overall league rankings. Whether it’s pass-rush pressure from Khalil Mack or a secondary that plays tight coverage, the defense is making it difficult for offenses at the right time.“It’s just that we’ve continued to play better, we’ve avoided the self-inflicted bad plays that we had in the Giant game, which contributed to our failings in that game Womens Tom Waddle Jersey ,” Fangio said. The Bears’ defense struggled and gave up 23 of the Giants’ 30 points Dec. 2 in a 30-27 overtime defeat. Since then, they have allowed a touchdown only once: a 9-yard run around end against Green Bay. They beat the Rams 15-6, the Packers 24-17 and, last week, the 49ers 14-9.They bounced back in a similar way earlier this year after allowing more than 30 points in back-to-back losses to Miami and New England.“When we have a team like that, we’re scary to other teams,” linebacker Danny Trevathan said. “We haven’t even played our best ball, but it’s getting there.”Trevathan has taken to calling this a classic bend-but-don’t break defense because the Bears can get into trouble, then come up with a big turnover like his interception in the red zone to help beat the 49ers.“It looks a little gloomy out there, but we never stumble over ourselves, we never think twice Sam Acho Jersey ,” Trevathan said.If there was a time this season for the Bears to take a step back on defense, this could have been it. They lost safety Eddie Jackson to an ankle injury and it’s possible he’ll miss a second straight game Sunday. Nickel defensive back Bryce Callahan had his strong season cut short three weeks ago by a broken foot. However, the defense flourished with Deon Bush at safety and Sherrick McManis at nickel corner.“Since I’ve been here, we’ve been losing a lot of players every year,” safety Adrian Amos said. “It’s just next man up, stay to our assignments, everybody going to practice and everybody doing well.”The Bears finished with eight key defensive players on injured reserve last year and six the previous season. But this year they’ve been relatively healthy.“We lost two key pieces a little bit the last couple weeks, but it’s just about how we respond. Don’t flinch,” Amos said. “We just are a close-knit team, a good team, and good teams overcome adversity. In an NFL season http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-devin-hester-jersey , there is going to be adversity.”The Bears lead the league in interceptions (27), fewest points allowed to opposing offenses (16.8 per game) and lowest opposing quarterback passer rating (72.5).Individually, Kyle Fuller is tied for the NFL interceptions lead with Miami’s Xavien Howard at seven, and Mack is tied for the league lead with six forced fumbles.Defense is setting off a Chicago fan fervor, as it always has — from Lovie Smith’s units to the 1985 champions to the Dick Butkus era.Fangio is from the New York-Philadelphia area and said he didn’t quite realize how much defense meant to Bears fans when he came to Chicago in 2015, although he’d been told once by the late Jim Finks, a former Bears general manager.“Jim Finks, my good buddy, told me way back when that if I ever had a chance to come to Chicago, I needed to because it’s a good sports town,” Fangio said. “They love the Bears Womens Danny Trevathan Jersey , they love defense and we’re starting to feel that.“Hopefully, we’ll continue it this Sunday and into the playoffs.”Fangio said it surprised him when even the defensive coordinator got recognized in public like Mack, even if it was a bit of a rarity.“I got recognized one time in the four years here when I was out in public. I think that’s it,” Fangio said. “Just in a gas station paying for my gas.”NOTES: Jackson (ankle), wide receiver Allen Robinson II (ribs) and linebacker Aaron Lynch (elbow) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday. … Defensive back DeAndre Houston-Carson missed Thursday’s practice due to illness.

uncalled pass interference fiasco has resulted in a long journey for Milan to Minsk that Womens Travis Benjamin Jersey , at last check, seemed encouraging. To summarize, automatic replay review will be initiated for pass interference only when the replay official spots, while looking at the play in real time or while screening full-speed reviews, clear and obvious calls or non-calls of offensive or defensive pass interference. It sounds good in theory. In practice, there’s still a chance it will become a mess. And evidence has now emerged as to how it can become a mess.Via the , Mike Giardi of NFL Media has shared via Twitter a key play from the Week 15 Chargers-Chiefs Thursday night thriller that NFL senior V.P. of officiating Al Riveron cited at an NFL Media Summit as an example of the application of the new rule allowing pass interference calls and non-calls to be reviewed.Officials on the field ruled with less than 10 seconds on the clock that Chiefs cornerback Kendall Fuller had interfered with Chargers receiver Mike Williams, giving the Chargers the ball at the Chiefs’ one yard line, automatic first and goal. Riveron, according to Giardi, explained that automatic replay review would have resulted in a finding that Fuller had committed defensive pass interference that Williams had committed offensive pass interference, resulting in offsetting penalties and a do-over of the third and goal play from the Kansas City 10, with only eight seconds left in a game where the Chargers trailed by seven points. So here’s the real question. Would the replay official have concluded based on the real-time play and full-speed replay review that the officials clearly and obviously missed Williams shoving Fuller away Keenan Allen Jersey , as Fuller was interfering with Williams?Maybe the replay official would have seen it, maybe the replay official wouldn’t have seen it. The replay official and the replay assistant will have to make those decisions quickly, and the video doesn’t reveal the same kind of undeniable blunder that was committed when officials in the NFC title game failed to see Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman blast Saints receiver Tommylee Lewis before the ball arrived. There’s a fine line between what is and isn’t clear and obvious, and 17 different replay officials may have 17 different standards for deciding in a compressed time frame when to initiate automatic review based on the full-speed-only replays that will be available to the replay officials. In a Rams-Saints situation, 17 out of 17 replay officials will (or at least should) activate Riveron’s remote review of the play from league headquarters in New York. But, in the Chiefs-Chargers case, would 17 of 17 find sufficiently clear and obvious evidence of offensive pass interference to engage a formal review?Possibly. Possibly not. The problem is that there will be some situations where a replay official hits the proverbial button based on the full-speed replay, and some situations where the replay official decides not to bog down the final moments of a game with a formal review by Riveron.Think of what the replay official will be processing in situations where “clear and obvious” may not be as “clear and obvious” as it was when Robey-Coleman struck Lewis prematurely. In the Fuller-Williams scenario, the replay official will be looking at whether the ruling of defensive pass interference was clearly and obviously wrong while also looking at whether the failure to call offensive pass interference was clearly and obviously wrong. When in doubt, will the replay official call for a full review? Or, when in doubt, will the replay official conclude that the presence of said doubt means that the evidence of an error necessarily isn’t clear and obvious? The fact that Riveron is openly sharing the Chargers-Chiefs play as a matter-of-fact example of a call of defensive pass interference becoming a replay-reversed ruling of offsetting fouls suggests that, frankly http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-ladainian-tomlinson-jersey , he possibly doesn’t appreciate this nuance. If that’s the case, the end result could be that too many late-game passing plays will end up being scrutinized by Riveron for clear and obvious errors, causing games to be slowed down for careful analysis of something far less clear and obvious than what happened in New Orleans. Thus, although the ostensible end result of a multi-month sausage grinding makes sense on the surface, Riveron’s review of this play from the Chiefs-Chargers contest suggests that, despite the safeguard that the Competition Committee has crafted to prevent excessive late-game replay reviews, there could still be too many of them — because the replay official may be expected to call for a full review under circumstances where the evidence isn’t nearly as clear and obvious as it was when Robey-Coleman clearly and obviously flattened Lewis before the ball had arrived. With the days winding down until the start of the regular season, the Competition Committee, Riveron, the Commissioner, and the owners need to be sure that everyone is on the same page regarding what this new procedure means and, more importantly, how it will be consistently and reliably applied in order to balance a desire to keep games moving while also ironing out clear and obvious mistakes. From no NFL teams to two impressive playoff bound squads Womens Jatavis Brown Jersey , things are looking good in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Chargers are sitting at 9-3, one game behind the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West, but they are also in a sizable lead for the Wild Card if they don’t beat out Kansas City for the No. 1 seed. The Los Angeles Rams at 11-1 clinched the NFC West in their win against the Detroit Lions Sunday, and will likely either take the NFC’s number one seed into the playoffs or the second seed if the one game back New Orleans Saints surpass them.Colin Cowherd again placed the Chargers as the fifth best team in the league and the Rams as the fourth, saying, “The Rams are better than the Chargers by a little bit ’cause I trust this star-studded team.”However, Cowherd acknowledged that star-studded teams worry him since he sees some Rams players “freelancing on defense looking for home runs when they should be satisfied with doubles.”While the Chargers may have less household names, Cowherd believes Philip Rivers should be in the MVP discussion.“Good lord, 100+ passer rating in 10 of his 12 games this year,” he said about Rivers, “the Chargers have the best receiving core in the league and deepest running back set in the league now too.”The Chargers take on the Cincinnati Bengals at home at 1:05p on Sunday while the Rams travel to Chicago to take on the Bears at 5:20p.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Nick Foles is in a unique situation http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-malcolm-jenkins-jersey , a Super Bowl MVP trying to lead his team to a second straight championship knowing he will most likely play somewhere else next season.Nothing about what Foles has done for the Philadelphia Eagles is ordinary.“I’m not worried about the future but I understand where I stand and every time I wear that jersey is special,” Foles said Wednesday. “We get one more week together, at least.”The Eagles (10-7) face the New Orleans Saints (13-3) in a NFC divisional playoff game on Sunday thanks to Foles’ heroics in the clutch again. He filled in when Carson Wentz sustained a knee injury in 2017 and led the Eagles to their first NFL title since 1960, going 5-0 in games that he started and finished.Foles returned to the starting lineup after a back injury sidelined Wentz last month and has led the Eagles to four straight wins, including a 16-15 comeback victory at Chicago in the wild-card round. Facing the NFL’s stingiest defense, Foles tossed a 2-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate on fourth down with 56 seconds remaining. But no matter how far Foles can take the Eagles, it probably won’t change his standing on the team. Wentz is the franchise quarterback. He finished third in NFL MVP voting in his second season as a pro. He returned quickly after surgery to repair two torn knee ligaments Womens Jalen Mills Jersey , started 11 games and posted career highs in completion rate (69.6 percent) and passer rating (102.2) despite battling inconsistency and injury.“He’s the guy we drafted and moving forward, he’s our quarterback,” coach Doug Pederson said, repeating the same thought several times. The Eagles must decide by mid-February if they want to exercise a $20 million option to keep Foles for 2019. That’s a big price to pay a backup, though Wentz is scheduled to make a base salary of $720,000 next season with a salary cap total of about $8.5 million. If the team declines the option, Foles becomes a free agent. If the option is picked up Brandon Graham Jersey , Foles has five days to choose whether to accept it or void it and pay back a $2 million signing bonus. Philadelphia could elect to exercise the option and trade Foles. His salary would become fully guaranteed on March 18, the fifth day of the league year.Wentz is under team control through 2020 and the Eagles could offer him a new long-term deal now before his asking price skyrockets.Although it’s not a debate within the organization, Foles vs. Wentz has dominated conversation among fans and sports talkers.Foles has already won a Super Bowl and he’s 25-12 as a starter in Philadelphia, going back to his first stint with the team from 2012-14. He has the highest winning percentage (.676) in franchise history. While outsiders argue the merits of both, it has not been uncomfortable for two talented quarterbacks who are close friends and share a special bond.“Both guys are brothers in Christ first and foremost so that’s a big part of their relationship,” Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz said.“They understand that football is not the most important thing to them so they relate extremely well in many other things. They’re extremely happy for the other guy’s success.“You don’t find that everywhere. You don’t find that very often on the same team let alone the same position, but that is what’s different about this team. Obviously the Eagles don’t own a third round pick and that trade would have to involve a different combination of swaps as it stands now. The point is there are plenty of ways to skin a cat and I won’t put a restrictor plate on my dreams over semantics.Regardless of whatever finagling is needed, landing an elite pass rusher to accentuate the Eagles’ pass rush is a win in my eyes. I get similarly excited over the idea of trading up for Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver and Alabama tackle Jonah Williams if they see a slide on draft day. Overall, it’s my belief that the Eagles would be more than justified in trading up if they land a top 10 talent that plays in the trenches.Bo Wulf of The Athletic recently mocked a scenario where the Eagles traded up to 15th overall to acquire Burns. He also made a case for other players that might interest the Eagles if they see a slight tumble on Thursday.Furthering our own discussion about possible trade down/trade up/stay put scenarios, Benjamin Solak presented me with different options and asked which I preferred. I’ll submit those same questions to you, gentle reader. They are as follows:

from keeping the Detroit Lions’ playoff hopes alive last weekend.Stafford still isn’t 100 percent but the Lions will need their quarterback to continue carrying a heavy load when they host the NFC North rival Chicago Bears on Saturday.Stafford completed 36 of his 44 passes for 381 yards in a 24-21 victory at Tampa Bay on Sunday despite the injury he suffered the previous week in Baltimore. With an almost non-existent running game Bennie Fowler III Jersey , the Lions don’t have much choice but to have Stafford throw on most downs.Stafford won’t complain about a rushing attack that averages a league-low 76.3 yards per game.“I just want to win,” he said. “If we have to throw it a bunch of times to do that, I’m all for it. I love throwing the ball.”The injury didn’t hinder him last week and Stafford doubts it will be a factor against the Bears.“It’s getting better,” he said. “I’m spending a lot of time in the training room to feel as good as I can.”Detroit (7-6) probably needs to win out to have any chance of reaching the playoffs for the second straight season. Chicago (4-9) is only playing for pride at this point, but that was enough motivation to snap a five-game losing streak at Cincinnati last week. The Bears dominated the Bengals 33-7.The Lions barely escaped Chicago with a 27-24 victory last month, requiring Matt Prater’s 52-yard field goal with 3:27 remaining. The Bears missed a field goal in the closing seconds.“You look at the performance they had last week, they’re hitting their stride,” Lions coach Jim Caldwell said. “They’re running the ball extremely well. They ran for 222 yards against us. And (Bears rookie Mitch Trubisky) is also throwing the ball well. Trubisky’s really coming along. The record means nothing in this league.”Stafford passed for 299 yards and two touchdowns in the first meeting while completing passes to eight different receivers. He connected with eight pass catchers once again in Tampa, with four players recording 64 or more receiving yards.“I just try to throw it to the open guy,” he said. “We have a bunch of targets on our team, guys who can make plays in their own way. I think that’s when we’re at our best. I’ve always said we’re at our best when we’re spreading the ball around and the defense is not able to key in on one guy.”Stafford will likely have to work behind a makeshift line. Center Travis Swanson is in the league’s concussion protocol, while guard T.J. Lang (foot) and tackle Rick Wagner (ankle) missed the first two days of practice. The Lions are hopeful that running back Ameer Abdullah (neck), will return after a two-game absence, as well as top kick returner Jamal Agnew (knee), who has missed three consecutive games.Trubisky is coming off arguably his best outing of the season. He completed 25 of 32 passes for 271 yards against the Bengals while passing for one touchdown and running for another.“I just feel like I’m getting better every week http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-taylor-gabriel-jersey ,” he said. “I don’t know about specific areas. All I’m worried about is winning and getting better each day. It all starts with leadership, coming into the building, working hard and making sure I’m preparing the right way.”Trubisky connected on 18 of 30 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown in the first meeting but also lost a fumble.“Last time, there were a couple times where penalties got us and that one turnover, so we’re just going to take care of the football and play our game and hope we can take all the positives from the last game (against Cincinnati),” he said.Trubisky feels a “positive vibe” around the team. He’s also got a workhorse running back in Jordan Howard, who powered for 147 yards and two touchdowns in Cincinnati.“Even though our win-loss record isn’t where we want it to be, we’re just trying to finish out strong,” he said. “It starts every day in practice and it starts this Saturday against Detroit.”Defensive lineman Eddie Goldman could return after missing last week’s game with a hip injury. Whether on 3rd down or in the red zone, the best of the best consistently find ways to come through for their team. With that in mind, I set out to analyze how well Bears’ QB Mitch Trubisky performed in these situations throughout 2018. What did he do well? What should he look to improve on? Find out in this film breakdown! As usual Womens Trey Burton Jersey , if your platform doesn’t display the videos being referenced within the article simply look for the italicized portion of each paragraph — that’ll contain a link to the video you need. We’ll start off by looking at Trubisky’s play in the red zone...<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="SxC0Zf">Let’s face it, Bears fans, Trubisky’s play in the red zone was... sporadic. Plays like these, where throws bounced off defenders’ hands, happened more often than we like to admit. But why? What gave Trubs so much trouble?<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="bRGyDw">Trubisky Red Zone Play Chart SampleTrubisky Red Zone Conclusion SummationTo find out, I charted and timed all of Trubisky’s red zone plays individually. And, after doing so, a trend emerged — if Trubisky took longer than 3 seconds to throw the ball, the play likely wasn’t successful. When he threw within 3 seconds, Trubisky produced a 111.58 passer rating. On the other hand, throws that took longer than 3 seconds produced just a 58.23 PR. Take a look at the charts above for more information.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="Gs8Szw">The film bears this out — when Trubisky can simply drop back and make a throw, his accuracy shines through. Both this bullet throw to Miller and this touch throw to Robinson are perfectly placed, each well away from their defender’s reach. But what gives him trouble on longer throws?<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="w1h8y0">To answer that, we must first acknowledge one of Trubisky’s legitimate weaknesses: he struggles reading off-ball defenders during the play. He’ll often miss defenders charging back to the ball or, in some cases Cody Parkey Jersey , literally standing in front of his intended target. It should go without saying, but this will cause huge problems for our offense if not corrected.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="QzzRGf">I also think he got nervous when throwing potential touchdowns — while his mobility often gave him space, he seemed to struggle with steadying his nerves and making calm plays. He missed more throws that targeted the end zone than any other, only registering a 31.81% (7/22) completion percentage on those throws.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="hRTIxD">His nervousness is a big part of why I think he performed so much better on quicker throws — he didn’t have time to think. When plays asked him to throw to a spot at the back of his drop, Trubisky was at his best.Ultimately I think Trubisky has a lot of room to improve his play in the red zone — while he probably won’t master off-ball reads in one offseason, simply gaining experience throwing into the end zone should help him steady his future red zone play. He may never be Brees-level, but he should improve.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="D5KXNi">So that’s the bad news: Trubisky struggled in the red zone, especially when throwing the ball into the end zone. But while you’d think the issues plaguing him in the red zone would affect his 3rd down play, they didn’t seem to — Mitch was consistently good on 3rd downs. What made him so much better on 3rd down than in the red zone?<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="fc2J0i">Trubisky 3rd Down Play Chart SampleTrubisky 3rd Down Conclusion SummationTo find out, I charted all of Trubisky’s 3rd and 4th down plays. What I found surprised me — outside of a rough first 4 games, Trubisky was one of the league’s best QBs on 3rd downs, especially in the 1st and 4th quarters. The 4th seasonal quarter’s 52.63% 3rd down conversion rate, in particular, was ~4% better than the NFL’s best (IND).I find his 4th quarter numbers especially interesting — if Trubisky was “entirely a product of Matt Nagy’s genius”, I’d expect his 3rd down numbers to consistently drop over the course of each game (almost exactly like they did in Weeks 1-4). But that’s not what I found at all — after starting the year converting only 9.09% of his 4th quarter 3rd downs http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-khalil-mack-jersey , Trubisky converted over 50% of his 4th quarter 3rd downs throughout the rest of the year. There’s no beating around the bush here, that’s elite production. <hr class="p-entry-hr" id="L1pZGo">But enough numbers, what does the film say? From what I can tell, Trubisky’s success on 3rd down was largely due to accuracy from the pocket. His 3rd down tape is littered with beautiful throws into tight windows that gave his receivers (and only his receivers) chances to make plays.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="i7ZjzI">Another secret to Trubisky’s 3rd down success was his mobility — watch here as he pumps the SF LB out of position before exploding through the LB’s now-vacant gap for the first down. While over-reliance on mobility will hurt a QB’s play, Trubisky seems to scramble efficiently, converting 12/19 (63.16%) scrambles on 3rd down in 2018.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="tOM9Xu">2018 also saw Trubisky improve his pre and post-snap reads — this first play shows him diagnose-and-defeat the Week 14 Rams’ zone coverage while the second play shows him draw-&-dump a defender in Week 15. Neither play is “special”, per se, but each demonstrates a fundamental read that QBs need to make to succeed.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="D7kAcA">In short, Trubisky’s play on 3rd down leaves a lot to be excited about. Between accurate throws, improving reads, and quick-twitch mobility, Trubisky is starting to look like a quarterback that can extend drives both early and late in games. If he can build on 2018, 2019 will be fun.<hr class="p-entry-hr" id="osdVzq">Based on the studies above, I think Trubisky needs to improve his post-snap reads further. I counted 7 balls in the red zone alone that should’ve been intercepted — that’s simply unacceptable. That said, experience and continued growth in the offense should help him improve his nerves in the end zone.Trubisky’s play on 3rd down also gave me a lot of hope for 2019 — he displayed accuracy Gale Sayers Jersey , poise, and converted 3rd downs at an elite rate. Considering the 162-play sample size I generated his conversion rates from, I feel confident in saying that we should expect him to continue converting at a high level next year.Overall, Mitchell Trubisky shouldn’t hold the Bears’ offense back in 2019. While he still has some issues to work through (footwork, progression speed, improvisation), he’s displayed a solid foundation to build on and could, if everything works out, challenge for a top 10 QB spot. What do YOU think of Trubisky? Does his red zone play worry you? Are you excited for his future?

Can Tom Telesco continue his ability to find gems at the linebacker position?" Latest NewsLos Angeles Chargers NewsChargers Draft2019 Chargers Draft Profile: Notre Dame LB Te’Von ConeyNew,14commentsCan Tom Telesco continue his ability to find gems at the linebacker position?PSTIn the same vein of the frustration that stemmed from the offensive line group from 2013-2016, the Chargers linebacker group has been plagued with injuries for the last two seasons. So much to the point that Gus Bradley needed to play the final two games of the seasons with seven defensive backs on the field because that was still light-years better than being stuck with a combination of Kyle Emanuel, Nick Dzubnar, and Hayes Pullard in the middle.Perryman missed another sizable chunk of the season and Jatavis Brown failed to finish the regular season healthy, once again. Kyzir White, the team’s starting weakside linebacker out of training camp, was playing exceptionally well until he sustained a knee injury in the second game of the season against the Buffalo Bills. This cannot be the case any longer. The must find some help, via the draft or free agency, and find some continuity at the position before the team finds itself in a position where the defense must help out the new quarterback in town. One player that intrigues me is Notre Dame’s versatile middle linebacker Te’Von Coney. He was a standout over the last three seasons for the Irish and had himself one of the better week’s among invited players at this year’s Reese’s Senior Bowl.At the all-star showcase Womens Austin Ekeler Jersey , Coney measured in at a hair under 6-foot-1 and 244 pounds. When I got the chance to speak with Coney during one of the week’s media sessions, he informed that 2018 was actually his first year playing middle linebacker. His previous three seasons were spent on the outside. If any, this shows a testament to his leadership abilities and football IQ that Coach Brian Kelly chose him to lead the defense when someone was needed to step into that role.Coming out of Palm Beach Gardens High-School in Florida, Coney was the country’s 12-rated linebacker by 247Sports and the 20th outside linebacker according to ESPN. On ESPN’s 300 list, he was 295th.After enrolling early at South Bend, Coney played as a true freshman, mainly on special teams and in a reserve role. As a sophomore, Coney was able to crack the starting lineup, playing in 12 total games while starting nine. He finished that year with 62 tackles and two for loss.By his junior year in 2017, Coney still wasn’t the full-time starter. Although he only started seven of his team’s 13 games, he still finished the year as the leading-tackler on the team with 116 total stops. He also led the team with 13.5 tackles-for-loss and was second on the team with three sacks. On October 21st, Coney was named the Bednarik Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against USC where he collected 11 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. After the postseason http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-melvin-gordon-jersey , he was named to the All-Bowl Team.Prior to his senior season, Coney was named to a number of preseason watch lists, including the Butkus, Bronco Nagurski, and Bednarik Award lists. For the first time in his career, Coney started all 12 games for the Irish, leading the team in tackles again with 107. He added 9.5 tackles-for-loss, 3.5 sacks, with an interception and fumble recovery. After watching the tape, there are a few traits that stand out to me immediately with Coney: 1.) He is taller than 5-foot-11. This is a big plus.2.) He excels at sifting through garbage to find ball-carriers before they get a chance to break into the second level.and3.) He is very good in zone/short area coverage. His ability to stick his foot in the ground and drive on tight ends and running backs over the middle of the field was prevalent from the start. One of his best games from 2018 was against Stanford and their Mackey Award finalist tight end, Kaden Smith. He was all over Smith from start to finish, breaking up several passes when the Cardinal repeatedly ran the Stick route concept against the Irish. Late in the fourth quarter, Coney sealed the win for the Irish after intercepting a late pass from Stanford quarterback KJ Costello on the same play he constantly made all game long.Good news for the Bolts, if the team decides to go offensive and defensive line in the first two rounds, there’s a good chance Coney will still be available later on day two and possibly be one of the latest draft diamonds found by GM Tom Telesco and company.

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to move on from Nick Foles this offseason and they’re also expected to have a strong market for the 2018 Super Bowl MVP’s services, according to a report from NFL Network.Rapoport first mentioned the possibility of tagging Foles and trading him last weekend. The new information here is that there’s buzz about the Eagles being able to get a significant return should they decide to trade Foles. Though Womens Tommy McDonald Jersey , if the Foles return isn’t going to be as much as the Bradford trade, that means it’s going to be something less than a package of first AND fourth-rounds picks from another team. Perhaps a second-round pick and then something else?I previously offered some thoughts on how the Eagles can handle this offseason’s Foles decision:Trading a player on the tag isn’t super common but it’s not unheard of. The Dolphins tagged and traded Jarvis Landry to the Browns last offseason in exchange for fourth and seventh-round picks. February 19 is the first day teams can apply the franchise tag to players. The deadline to tag a player is prior to 4:00 PM ET on March 5. The Eagles will have some time to figure out how they want to proceed. It remains clear the Eagles view Carson Wentz — and not Foles — as the team’s long-term franchise quarterback. Wentz still hasn’t even officially been shut down for the 2019 NFL playoffs given that he’s yet to be placed on injured reserve. In the meantime, Foles will continue to start his final game(s) under center for the Eagles.

He didn’t have a pro day at Murray State. He didn’t even think he would get drafted DJ Chark Jersey , at least not in the third round. He ended up being Jacksonville’s biggest, maybe boldest, reach in the NFL draft. The Jaguars chose the 5-fooot-10, 225-pound linebacker 鈥?best known for being Alabama star Quinnen Williams’ older brother 鈥?with the 98th overall pick during the three-day event. The selection was so surprising that NFL Network couldn’t dig up his highlights immediately.Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell spent 10 minutes defending the decision, explaining the team had no fourth-round pick, couldn’t find a trade partner and thought Williams was one of the last linebackers available with “some starter traits.”Now, given the uncertainty of Telvin Smith‘s future in Jacksonville, Williams could end up filling a potential hole in the defense.Smith is skipping voluntary workouts and hasn’t returned calls from team officials, raising speculation that he could be on the trading block. Caldwell and personnel chief Tom Coughlin denied reports that Smith is available. But Caldwell also stopped short of saying he expects Smith http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.-j.-cann-jersey , a Pro Bowl selection in 2017, to be on the roster this fall.“We’ll see. We’ve got time. Like Coach (Doug) Marrone said, these are all voluntary situations,” Caldwell said. “We’ll see what happens and start a dialogue there. … I don’t want to go into hypothetical situations.”Williams played in 43 games at Murray State, notching 231 tackles, nine pass breakups and three interceptions and three forced fumbles.“I’m very confident in my abilities,” he said. “”The biggest thing is me being dependable. My work ethic was huge, too.”Mark Ellenz, Jacksonville’s director of college scouting Womens Marqise Lee Jersey , said the pick went from getting panned to getting praised.“We didn’t take him to make a splash,” Ellenz said. “I know my phone is getting blown up by people and I see the stuff, the bloggers and everything, and they’re like, ‘Who is this kid? What a wasted pick!’“And then they go and watch his (highlights) and go, ‘Oh, great pick.’ So just be patient with it and let’s see what happens.”Here are some other things to know about Jacksonville’s draft:WHO THEY GOTThe Jaguars feel like they landed two first-round draft picks, one with Kentucky defensive end Josh Allen at No. 7 overall and another with Florida right tackle Jawaan Taylor in the second round. They also chose San Jose State tight end Josh Oliver (third), Temple running back Ryquell Armstead (fifth) Telvin Smith Jersey , Washington State quarterback Gardner Minshew (sixth) and Auburn defensive tackle Dontavious Russell (seventh).SURPRISE MOVENot drafting a safety. Jacksonville parted ways with 2018 starters Barry Church and Tashaun Gipson, leaving Rodney Harrison and Jarrod Wilson to man the position and little depth behind them.HOW THEY DIDThey filled glaring holes at right tackle and tight end.WHAT’S NEXT?Figuring out who will be the team’s backup quarterback behind Nick Foles. Jacksonville has Cody Kessler, Tanner Lee, Alex McGough and now Minshew vying for the position. Minshew has to be the favorite, especially after the way Coughlin and Caldwell gushed about his ability and intangibles. After five seasons in Jacksonville, Blake Bortles is now in Los Angeles as the backup quarterback for the Rams. And he says playing for Sean McVay is like nothing he experienced with the Jaguars.Bortles told the that McVay has an impressive command of the team.“Seeing how he coaches, how all the other coaches coach and how the guys are receptive and take it, I’ve never seen anything like it,” Bortles said.Bortles won’t play in Los Angeles as long as Jared Goff is healthy http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-t.j.-yeldon-jersey , but he wants to play again somewhere and he thinks his time with McVay is going to make him a better quarterback in the future.“I also expect to be a starter in this league again, and I know it’s not going to be here in L.A. So I’m trying to just better myself,” Bortles said. “And if I get an opportunity to play, great. If not, then I spent a year learning from McVay, and being around a really good organization.”Whether Bortles ever becomes a starter again remains to be seen, but it’s easy to believe that a year playing for McVay could teach him things about playing the quarterback position that he never learned in Jacksonville.
